🗳 RIDER OF THE WEEK RESULTS 🗳

🏆 Our next instalment of our Rider of the Week poll for 2025 sees us look back over the fixtures which took place between Monday 31st March - Sunday 6th April, and for the first time in history, we have a different winner other than Chris Harris when he has been included in a poll. Congratulations go to Anders Rowe who picked up the top prize with 45.59% of the votes.

🐅 Anders has been particularly impressive for his new club Sheffield Speedway Tigers Sheffield Tigers in the Premiership and despite the absence of Tai Woffinden, a crash which had a massive effect on the team, he registered a paid maximum, 11+4/5, as they tore into Birmingham Brummies' in their opening fixture at Owlerton.

🌟 He beat Chris 'Bomber' Harris into second place, who once again had an impressive performance for King's Lynn Stars in their home loss to Belle Vue Aces, registering 14+3/7, but also helped Glasgow Tigers Speedway to an away victory at Edinburgh Monarchs in the opening leg of the Scottish Cup, scoring 12+1/5. He then rounded off the weekend with a top 4 finish in the Pairs alongside Kyle Howarth for Glasgow, before sweeping to victory at Scunthorpe in the CLRC, claiming the title for the first ever time. He gained 30.39% of the votes.

🇩🇪 3rd place, and very unfortunate not to be higher, was Erik Riss with 24.02% of the votes, who registered his highest ever Premiership scoring, 20/7, as Oxford Speedway Spires fell to defeat at home to Ipswich Witches. After a nasty crash in the final of the Pairs at Workington, he also went on to win the title for Redcar Bears Speedway alongside Charles Wright.

🗣 Congratulations go to Anders for his victory in this edition of Rider of the Week and I'm sure all British fans will be delighted to see how he is progressing at the beginning of 2025.

📣 TEAM OF THE MONTH (MARCH) 📣

☠️ It was a shortened month of March where we selected our Team of the Month, with only the Premiership KO Cup matches, and a single National Development Trophy fixture being taken into account and it is congratulations to Leicester Lions Speedway who picked up the first award of 2025.

➡️ Leicester began with a resounding away victory at Birmingham in the first leg of the KO Cup, winning 57-33 which many did not see coming. They then sealed the deal in the 2nd leg with a hard fought 46-44 victory which saw them come from behind after heat 12 to take the victory on the night.

🏁 The late withdrawal of Craig Cook could have derailed them in the early part of the season, but Drew Kemp has stepped in seamlessly to steady the ship.

👍 Congratulations to Leicester Lions for thier first award of 2025, and they will be looking to carry this on through the month of April.

🗳 RIDER OF THE WEEK RESULTS 🗳

🏆 We bring you the first result of our Rider of the Week competition for 2025 as we look back over the fixtures which took place between Monday 24th March - Sunday 30th March, and despite the result being closer than expected, it was Chris 'Bomber' Harris who came out on top.

🌟 Chris opened his week in spectacular style, on debut for his new club, King's Lynn Stars, he roared to a superb 17+1/6 paid maximum, including some breath-taking action from the back as the Stars overcame Oxford Spires in the 1st Leg of the KO Cup Quarter Final. He then completed the job, returning to Oxford and scoring 11+1/5 as the Stars set up a semi final with local rivals, Ipswich Witches. He ended up topping the poll with 45.64% of the votes.

🇱🇻 UK Speedway newcomer, Francis Gusts, came in 2nd with 39.14% of the votes after settling in well to British Speedway. He scored 7+1/5 from reserve after a nervy start at Kings Lynn for Oxford Speedway Spires, but then saw himself involved in some great battles with Chris Harris. Back at Oxford, on home debut, he bagged 9+1/7 in a busy night.

🧙‍♀️ 3rd place went to Dan Thompson Racing , who has started very well for Ipswich Witches from reserve. After scoring 8+2/4 at Belle Vue, he then went on to score 10+1/5 as the Witches tore into Belle Vue to make their way into the Semi Finals.

🗣 Congratulations to the Bomber and it's pretty certain that if he carries on in this vein, this won't be the last time we see him in the poll.
