If you’ve been meaning to get out of the house, meet some other mums or just have an actual adult conversation while the little ones come along for the ride… come join us! 💚

Every Monday at 10am I host the Mamma Social Co Walk & Talk in Exmouth.

There’s no pressure, no awkward introductions and absolutely no requirement to have your life together 😂

Just a relaxed, buggy-friendly walk with a lovely bunch of mums, plenty of chatting and the option for a coffee afterwards ☕️

Yesterday was another really chilled one… and I'm starting to think we might actually be getting the hang of this relaxing-on-holiday thing. 😂

The morning mostly consisted of tablets, with 3 of the 4 kiddos playing Roblox together.

And yes, I know… screens. 😱😂

But honestly? Hearing Theo getting so chatty and animated while they were playing was probably one of my favourite parts of the day.

I rarely see him completely immersed in play with other children. He's quite happy doing his own thing alongside everyone, but actually playing together isn't something I get to watch very often.

So hearing him talking through what they were doing, giggling away and properly getting involved with the others was just lush. 💚

It might have been through a tablet, but they were still playing together.

Still socialising.

Just in Theo's way. 💚

Eventually we dragged ourselves away from Roblox and wandered down to the shop to buy snacks because… we're on holiday and apparently snacks are now an essential food group.

Although with four children, I'm beginning to think I should have just budgeted approximately £700 for snacks alone. 🙃😂

Back to camp for dinner before heading down to the evening entertainment for more dancing, lots of giggles and even a murder mystery for the adults. 👀

Zachary somehow ended up ON STAGE.

He got up there, said his name into the microphone…

…and then apparently realised there were PEOPLE LOOKING AT HIM and promptly legged it back off again. 🤣

A very brief but successful career in show business.

And then there was Theo.

Theo went to the toilet like a completely normal person.

Theo did not return from the toilet like a completely normal person.

He came back carrying what can only be described as approximately half a roll of toilet paper. 🤨

Before I really had time to question why he'd apparently raided the bathroom supplies, he'd started fashioning himself an entire collection of accessories.

A headband.

A tie.

Wrist tassels.

Apparently the evening entertainment had a dress code and nobody bothered to tell the rest of us. 🤣

I have absolutely NO idea where the idea came from, but there he was in his handmade toilet-roll couture, dancing away and completely living his best life.

And honestly, I bloody loved watching him. 💚

So no huge adventure yesterday.

No exciting day out.

Just Roblox, snacks, dancing, a very short-lived stage career and the debut of Theo's toilet-roll fashion collection.

Pretty successful holiday day if you ask me. 😂💚

Yesterday was suspiciously chilled… which, considering we’re camping with four children, feels like something I should probably be concerned about. 😂

I even got a LAY IN.

And by lay in, I mean I didn’t crawl out of my sleeping bag until about 8am, which in parent terms is basically midday. 🙌

First job of the day was a trip to Tesco for all the things we’d forgotten/realised we needed.

Mainly food.

Because apparently I massively underestimated just how much food four children can consume when you take them camping. 😅

Got back feeling smug that we were now fully stocked and I’d remembered hot dogs for an easy lunch.

One slight problem.

No can opener. 🤦‍♀️

BUT.

Did I panic? No.

Did I remember I had a multitool and proceed to open that tin like I was auditioning for Bear Grylls?

Absolutely. 😂

Honestly, for about three minutes I was feeling pretty bloody impressed with myself.

Survival skills: unlocked. 💪

…then Dot found the can opener.

Of course she did.

But we’re ignoring that because NOBODY can take those three minutes of wilderness survival away from me. 😂

After my battle with the hot dogs, we went to investigate the site shop, which is actually amazingly well stocked (so apparently the Tesco mission probably wasn’t quite as necessary as we thought 🙃), before heading to the park and checking out the little soft play.

Then in the evening we went to see what the entertainment was like.

Lots of dancing. Lots of laughing. Lots of children running around having the absolute best time.

And eventually…

Four VERY tired kiddos. 🙌

Which meant that beautiful little bit of peace at the end of the night where the children are finally asleep, everything goes quiet and you can just sit there for a minute thinking…

Ahhhh.

Before crawling back into the sleeping bag yourself ready to do it all again tomorrow. 😂💚

Nothing particularly exciting happened yesterday.

No huge adventure. No big day out.

Just camping, hot dogs, dancing and four happy kids.

And actually?

It was bloody lovely. 💚

AD | Gifted 🐧

Potty training is going really well… providing you completely ignore the fact that toddlers apparently only desperately need a wee when there isn't a toilet within a 3-mile radius. 😂🙃

And considering we spend approximately 97% of our lives out adventuring, I needed something we could chuck in the car and take everywhere.

Enter our little penguin army from My Carry Potty 🐧😂

We were kindly gifted the My Carry Potty, along with the toilet training seat and step, and they've genuinely slotted into everyday life so easily.

The carry potty comes with us on days out, adventures and those “MUM I NEED A WEE” moments when we're nowhere near a toilet. It closes up into its own little case, has a handle so Zach can carry it himself (VERY important apparently 😂), and it's leak-proof once closed. 🙌

And honestly, when you're somewhere you can't immediately empty or rinse it out, that is an absolute GODSEND. Because carrying a potty around is one thing… carrying a potentially leaking potty around is quite another. 😭😂

At home, the toilet seat and step have been helping him get used to using the big toilet independently — although apparently sitting on it sideways with your feet up is also a perfectly acceptable technique. 🤦‍♀️😂

Potty training is chaotic enough without feeling like you have to stay within sprinting distance of a toilet, and having something we can just grab and take with us has made adventures that little bit easier. 💚🌿

This Bank Holiday weekend, Dartington Hall is being transformed into the Fantastical Magic Festival and we've been invited along to experience it! 😍

There'll be FOUR magical realms to explore, fairies and wizards to meet, a Spell Card Quest, live performances, an Enchanted Makers Market, food, drink and plenty of magical surprises along the way. ✨

And judging by this little sneak peek... I think the boys are going to LOVE it. 👀😂
