I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but recently I was diagnosed with cancer following emergency surgery.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been dealing with the physical and mental impact of everything that has happened, including ongoing scans, appointments, and treatment planning. It’s honestly been one of the hardest periods of my life.

Because of that, I’m going to be taking some time away from the day-to-day running of Wales2Win while I focus on my health, recovery, and spending time with the people closest to me.

Wales2Win means the world to me and I’m incredibly proud of the community we’ve built together over the years. I’ll still check in when I can, but right now my full focus needs to be on getting through this next chapter.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me already with messages, kindness, and encouragement. It truly means more than you know.

Bonnie’s family have spoken out against false rumours circulating online, confirming that she remains seriously ill but stable in hospital after requiring emergency surgery for a burst appendix while in Portugal.

The 74-year-old first became unwell during a concert in England before needing urgent treatment overseas.

Her team have also expressed disappointment over inaccurate speculation and clarified that some individuals speaking publicly do not represent Bonnie or her family.

Doctors are said to be optimistic about her recovery, while the family have asked for privacy at this difficult time.

The past few months have been some of the hardest of my life.

I’ve been through surgery, complications, pain, uncertainty, and moments where mentally I honestly felt exhausted. Just when I thought things were improving, I then had the setback of my wound opening after my staples were removed, which has been difficult both physically and mentally to deal with.

There’s been fear, frustration, sleepless nights, and a lot of overthinking along the way. At times it felt like my whole life had been put on pause while trying to recover and get answers.

But through everything, this experience has taught me just how important health really is. We take so much for granted until our bodies force us to slow down.

I’m still healing, still recovering, and still trying to get back to feeling like myself again. But I’ve made a decision that I want to start focusing more on the positives now.

More gratitude.
More memories.
More living.
Less stress over things I can’t control.

I know there’s still a journey ahead, but I’m trying to move forward with a more positive mindset and appreciate life a little more than before.

Thank you to everyone who has checked in on me, supported me, and been there during the difficult moments. It genuinely means more than you probably realise. ❤️
