Penblwydd Hapus Jeff Squire,

born on this day 23rd September 1951 in Pontywaun, Crosskeys.

Jeff is a former Welsh rugby player who captained Wales and represented the British and Irish Lions. Known for his strength, leadership, and versatility, Squire primarily played as a flanker. He earned 29 caps for Wales between 1977 and 1984, during which time he played a crucial role in Wales’ Five Nations victories and Grand Slams.

Squire was also selected for the British and Irish Lions tours in 1977 and 1980, where his tenacity and skill made him a valuable player on the international stage. After retiring, he remained connected to rugby, contributing as a coach . His contributions to Welsh rugby have made him a respected figure in the sport's history.

Broadcaster John Stapleton - a familiar face on news and current affairs shows for decades - has died.

The 79-year-old, who had Parkinson's disease, died peacefully in hospital this morning.

Thoughts are with the family and friends at this time 💔

Born in Swansea on 19 September 1985, Alun Wyn Jones is a true Welsh rugby legend — the world’s most-capped player with 158 appearances for Wales and 12 for the Lions.

From Grand Slams in 2008, 2012 and 2019 to captaining the Lions in 2021, his leadership and passion have inspired a generation.

Here to Care, Not to Battle - Parental Rights for Disabled Adults UK

Change the law to automatically allow parents or carers to retain parental responsibility when their disabled child turns 18, if the child lacks capacity and remains in the parent’s care. We think this would remove the need for costly and unnecessary applications to the Court of Protection.
