Make time to listen.
Not just to the noise of their words, but to the weight behind them.
What feels small to us may feel enormous to them.
What seems fleeting to us may shape them for years.
Every story, every question, every complaint is a doorway into how they see the world — and how they see themselves within it.
If we brush it off, that doorway slowly closes.
If we lean in, we are invited into a world that only opens to those who are willing to pause and care.
Don’t get locked out. Because once that doorway shuts, it can be painfully hard to find your way back in.
And nothing leaves a deeper ache — for parent or child — than a voice that learned it was safer to stay silent. ❤️
