If you have ADHD & food is hard, THIS is the series you've been waiting for. Welcome to Eat to Focus, episode #1. Eating is not just 1 task for us, it's five: Choosing, shopping, prepping, cooking, and eating. This is what I call the task problem: food is 5x more effort for us as people with ADHD. The first solution? Do only 2-3 tasks each time you make your food instead of 5. That could look like: taking out pre-prepped chicken + adding to a salad mix then eating. Or making sure you buy a ready-made meal when you grocery shop so that when you get home you have the energy to eat. Follow and save for the next part of the series: The Microbarrier Problem. 🍓 PS: I have a new ADHD-friendly cookbook coming out called "Eat to Focus." Releases December 1st, 2025! Join the waitlist in my bio to get behind-the-scenes and so you don't forget about it ;)

Adhd medication can improve your brain structure!!

It tested healthy rats, healthy rats artificially inflamed, and ADHD model rats with methylphenidate and assessed the retinal neural cell tissues. They found that methylphenidate impacts retinal cells differently depending on if the environment is inflammatory or not (AKA healthy rats got worse body changes, ADHD + inflamed rats improved oxidative stress and mitochondrial function. caveats: obviously, this was done in rats and not humans. this is also a preliminary breakthrough study and we need to replicate it. last, they only looked at the retinal neural cell tissue, not specifically whole body measures. however, it finally gives us an understanding about how methylphenidate could be working beyond simply dopamine!
