We know it’s been quiet on our socials and we are sorry.
All of our volunteers have struggled with health issues recently, and are still fighting on against their bodies.

We appreciate your patience with us during the difficulties with heat and sickness.

Behind the scenes we have been busy making memories.

We had the pleasure of hosting a puppy party for Daisy’s Birthday and it was a wonderful experience for the children and the dogs.

We have been visiting our friends at Sandiacre Court on Wednesday afternoons and it’s so lovely to see the residents reactions when the dogs come to say hello. The bonds they have formed are truly wonderful.

We visit our friends at The Firs once a month and it’s always a highlight. Yesterday we took some new members of the team to meet the residents too, and the cuddles were so appreciated.

The beautiful Ruby has joined our team. She is a magical soul who I’ve had the privilege of knowing since she was a puppy. She loved the children’s party and care home visits.

We have had to change some of our policies due to the recent hot weather, meaning we can no longer travel outside a 20 minute radius. We are hoping to expand in the future so we can reach more people who need dog time.

All emails and enquiries will be dealt with this week now that I am feeling slightly more human, thanks to lots of dog time.

Just a little note from us at Pause With Paws C.I.C 💛

We’re a small, volunteer-led organisation, which means we don’t have a big team or office staff behind the scenes, just a few people doing their very best alongside other work and life commitments.

Because of that, there may sometimes be delays in our responses, especially when volunteers are unwell or availability changes unexpectedly. We really appreciate your patience and kindness when this happens.

We also want to gently highlight something important for the welfare of the dogs in our care - during very warm weather, we may need to postpone or adjust visits. Travelling long distances in hot conditions isn’t fair or safe for the dogs, and their wellbeing will always come first in any decision we make.

Thank you so much for supporting a small community project like ours. Every visit we do is done with care, love, and intention 🐾💛

We are looking at adding to our paw-sitive team. If you’ve got in touch with us before about helping we will be in touch, if you haven’t then please reach out. ❤️

🐾💚 Mental Health Awareness Week 💚🐾

Sometimes wellbeing doesn’t look like therapy rooms or big breakthroughs.
Sometimes it looks like paw prints, wagging tails, and a dog quietly sitting beside you on the hard days.

Dogs can help support our mental wellbeing in so many gentle ways:
✨ Encouraging us to get outside
✨ Helping reduce feelings of loneliness
✨ Bringing comfort during anxiety or overwhelm
✨ Creating routine and purpose
✨ Offering unconditional companionship without judgement

At Pause With Paws CIC, we see every week how powerful the human-animal bond can be. A cuddle, a walk, a moment of connection — it all matters.

Mental health isn’t always visible. Be gentle with yourself and others this week. 💚

On Wednesday we visited our friends at for our weekly session of doggy therapy. 🐶

We were delighted to meet new residents and so were the dogs, especially Rosie who can always sense a new resident and makes sure she gives them plenty of dog time. ❤️

The other dogs made sure they spent time with their friends. It’s been so beautiful to see the bonds form over the past two months. The dogs get just as excited as we do! 🥹

We also brought our newest recruit, Trixie, with us. She’s been doing great and residents love to see her being held like a baby, which just so happen to be Trixie’s favourite position to cuddle. 🥰

We are already looking forward to next weeks visit at this wonderful care setting. 🫶

Tarot, Tails & Tea 🐶

Yesterday we hosted our first Tarot, Tails & Tea event and, despite a few issues that we couldn’t control, it ended up being a really fun event.

We had an impromptu outdoor session, as unfortunately we couldn’t use the room we had hired (dogs safety always comes first) so we made the most of the lovely weather.

The wonderful provided us with a beautiful grounding meditation to really get us into a calm state where we could set an intention for our tarot readings.
She then gave everyone a card and a personal reading.
There were tears, smiles and lots of laughter. 🫶

Then we had drinks, homemade pastries and cookies whilst reflecting on the session. It was a lovely group of people and we were honoured to have .nature.connections join us.

The dogs had access to water, tasty treats and most importantly a shaded area.

Looking back was all about turning challenges into strengths. Changing from a sticky situation into a calm one. And a reminder that you cannot control what happens, but you can control how to deal with it.
