Only 2 weeks until the Balloch Big Music weekend! A great selection of live music taking place in various venues around Balloch.

“Joe Quinn has been passionate about music for over 60 years and a full time musician for over 20 years. He was a musical director for the Lomond Folk Festival, an event which brought around 7,000 people into Balloch over the festival weekend.

After a few attempts to revive the festival with a 12 man committee, 135 page document from the council, 1200 fence panels, 2 marquees not to mention Skerryvore, Capercaillie, Donnie Munro and others it was just not feasible to continue. Fast forward to 2019 Joe started a smaller street festival, The Balloch Big Music Weekend. This involved live music in all the pubs and hotels in Balloch and bought large numbers of people into Balloch over the weekend. All the venues were ready to repeat this in 2020 but then covid struck and put a halt to these plans.

Balloch Big Music Weekend is now up and running again from 14th – 18th August. There will be set concerts and gigs and plenty of sessions for musicians to join in and get the festival vibe. We hope to make this a yearly event”
