Is anyone else impatiently waiting for the warmer nights to come? We’ve got 0 degrees here for 3/4 nights this week so I’ve got no chance of getting my Connecticut Field Pumpkins or Martin the Giant Marrow out. It looks like I’ll just have to have my at home forest a week longer!🎃🥒👩🏼‍🌾

My second Kohlrabi ‘Mr Green’ is coming along. I’m going to start keeping a measurement record as of this week for all of my Giants. I’m hoping to start packing on some real growth now for the Giant/Heavy Veg Show in August🥬👩🏼‍🌾

My Pak Choi has *mostly* been left alone by the wildlife and is coming along lovely. I have about 10 that’s made it (someone left the cover open🫣) and it got ravaged a few weeks back. I haven’t decided wether I want to continually harvest and keep cutting the individual outer leaves, or harvest the whole plant by cutting the full plant once it’s fully grown🥬👩🏼‍🌾

I’ve been really stressed trying to get the time to get my plants their final pots this year. I just need to sort the other side of my tunnel out to put them where I want them. Thankfully, being in my trusty 12l buckets they’re quite portable!
I’ve got: Roma, Heinz, Big Mama, Strawberry & Honey Delight Tomatoes, Sweet California Candy Cane Chocolate Cherry Peppers and Cape Gooseberries!😅👩🏼‍🌾

Finally, I’ve got my Tomatoes, Peppers and Cape Gooseberries planted in! There all in trusty 12L builders buckets! This isn’t their final place in the tunnel, I just need to sort the other side out to put them there 😅👩🏼‍🌾

Almost half way there!🥬
We’re now at the 3 months in point, with around 16 weeks left to go until the Giant Veg Show. The Giant Kohlrabi have come quite a way from tiny seeds. Now it’s all about getting as much weight on them as possible, they don’t have to be pretty just giant!🥬👩🏼‍🌾

Cinnamon to the rescue🛟!
This morning I dried the split in my Giant Beetroot and packed it full of Cinnamon! This may sound and look a bit odd but Cinnamon is a bit of a super hero in the garden. Its a natural fungicide and antibacterial agent and will deter pests and gnats. It should also dry out the split and encourage the split to scab over. I’m hoping it works!🤞🏻🫜👩🏼‍🌾
