The track is the latest to be taken from her new album Can’t Take My Story Away, which comes January 16th on Cooking Vinyl and Outlaw Music.A moving tribute to Elles’ late friend, Matt Long, the soulful, blues driven track was written by Matt before he sadly passed away. “‘Better Days’ carries such a beautiful truth, that hope is never far away. Singing it feels like a privilege, and a way to celebrate the life and music of my late friend,” Elles says of the track. “We emerged onto the UK blues scene around the same time, crossing paths at festivals and on tour.

- Tell us a bit about yourself or your band.

Illusions of Grandeur is a Theatrical Hard Rock/Fantasy Metal band based in Los Angeles, CA. Illusions of Grandeur has been touring in both the United States as well as across the UK, Germany, France, and the Ukraine since 2016. I.O.G. have made appearances at various festivals including Rockfest, Brewstock, Metal Manali, Sav Fest, Extreme Metal Mayhem Festival MI, Dewey Beach Music Festival and Witney Music Festival. Illusions of Grandeur has shared the stage with artists as varied as DOPE, Motograter, September Mourning, New Year’s Day, Puddle of Mudd, Stryper, República, Stitched up Heart and Otep.

Illusions of Grandeur Live show The Siren Saga is a story of the journeys, perils, and triumphs of the Siren and her warriors. The story mixes facts and fiction combining Greek and Norse Mythology, Sirens, Gods, Archangels.

Tell us about your top performance.Answer:Every new show feels like the best one so far, because the band keeps getting tighter and more connected. The first Famous Strangers show will always be special, that was the moment we stepped out and said, this is real, this is happening.We have not hit our absolute peak yet. We are still chasing that show where everything lines up perfectly in our heads and on stage, but every night we get a little closer.

Who has been your most influential teacher or mentor?Answer:For Jeff, it has always started with his dad, Darrell, who was a touring musician and had Jeff sleeping on jam room floors as a kid.For Amanda, it was her stepfather Robert, who bought her first acoustic guitar and taught her Beatles songs at the kitchen table, and later Timothy Prevost, who dragged her into the metal scene and snuck her into shows.Braden will point to George, and Beej gives a lot of credit to his brother and a few key drum mentors over the years.

The first incarnation of Instigators can be traced to West Yorkshire in the early Eighties. A friendship with Subhumans Dick Lucas saw his label Bluurg release their debut EP in 1984 and an LP ‘Nobody Listens Anymore’ a year later. The records were well received, putting them on the cover of revered magazine Maximum Rock ‘n Roll. American artist Pushead also championed Instigators, including songs on his worldwide compilation ‘Cleanse The Bacteria’. And then the vocalist, bassist and drummer all walked out, leaving founder member Simon Mooney without a band. With touring commitments, and a determination to carry on, Simon immediately assembled a new line-up, with Andy Turner and Andy Turnbull drafted in as vocalist and bassist, their band Xpozez having recently split.
