Rehoming Rods Update

We managed to kit out this young lad Theo after mum messaged to see if we could help.

We opted for

2 x pole kits
Landing mat and net to get both mum and son fishing together in there local rivers and ponds.

Shortly after collecting Theo was into his fist fish, well done mate :)

Happy fishing to both and thanks for sending in the pics.

Well that rounds off another weekend!

Me and my lad Harry took a slow trip to Ashford Saturday morning to meet Ron who donated a large amount of fishing items which was awesome and also showed us his hydrus sib which looked incredible and im trying my hardest not to cave! (focus on getting fully better first!) the items Ron donated will help alot of kids and im making a kit for a lad this week with bits from this bundle, so huge thanks Ron was awesome to meet you mate!

Plus on the way over as it was lads only i may have treated Harry to a drum and bass initiation with andy c which im suprised he liked and I confirmed my love for the track home in that bass !!!!!

On the way home i popped into the Anglers Den tackle shop to grab some fresh wraps of lug for the evenings meet and fish event in bexhill then headed home.

After that trip i had a nap which us old fu&£ers do now a days! To refresh the batteries!

Come 7pm i was back out and off to Bexhill for an evening of fishing, i wasnt sure if many woud be out due to how pants its been fishing recently but was suprised to be greeted by some awesome peeps and friendly faces. We were 8 anglers strong with a few late pull outs as expected with it been the kids summer holidays.

I myself travelled light and fished one rod

The sea was lovley and flat and we was out on the sand for the first 2 hours, not much happened and as darkness approached we was pushed back onto the shingle.

My aim was to cast to the edge of some rocks and mix small baits with large baits alternating casts.

I had worm, squid and razors.

It was a very slow night

I had 2 strong bites on sardene which Rob lent me that come to nothing

And then towards the top of the tide managed 1 tiny eel!

Cant believe how small some of them are this year like little snakes!

Rob managed 1 decent eel and another small

Then i heard of 1 more eel and 1 bass

So between 8 of us 5 fish in 6 hours so incredibly slow!!!

But the social aspect was awesome and exchanging stories of times past and having a general laugh i left feeling somewhat lighter.

Its amazing what a positive effect fishing can have on your overall mental health and i felt fantastic.

Sunday was a complete family day and we spent the day looking for bargains at the local bootfair and then a day in the park playing rounders which was awesome 👍

On a more positive note

I have managed to get some more kits out to local kids via rehoming rods which is awesome and hopefully the kids will enjoy there new set ups and get into some fish.

With a few more planned to be picked up shortly i will keep you all updated 😎

Quick update folks!

Again huge thanks to those who have messaged asking where i am 👍
I am still here!

Been another manic few weeks!

Been told to slow down by my consultant which is hard considering i cant sit down for longer than five mins, without wanting to do something!

Found out that my right lung is damaged where the clots were from my pulmanory embolism, left lung has recovered well and there is a slight abnormalaty on right side of heart which has been causing slight pulpertations. On the plus side i am due another ct scan soon so will find out more but huge thanks to all asking it means alot :)
