Russia claims it intercepted one of the largest Ukrainian drone assaults on Moscow since the war began, with authorities saying more than 430 UAVs targeting the capital were destroyed overnight. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said most drones were intercepted before reaching the city, while Russia's Defense Ministry claimed a total of 452 drones were downed nationwide.
The reported barrage briefly disrupted operations at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport as security measures were tightened. Ukraine has intensified long-range drone attacks deep inside Russian territory, while President Volodymyr Zelensky has previously argued that sustained strikes on Moscow could force the Kremlin to confront the costs of the war more directly.
