Celebrate with by Fidan Meikle!

Samim loves chess. He plays it at home in Afghanistan, alone at the detention centre, and eventually at the chess club at his new school in the UK. He’s glad to be able to play the familiar game, even though the pieces have different names to what he is used to: soldiers become pawns, the elephant becomes a bishop, and the shah becomes the king.
