The is open for business... Bring your imagination!

When the mysterious Nowhere Emporium arrives in Glasgow, orphan Daniel Holmes stumbles upon it quite by accident. Before long, the 'shop from nowhere' -- and its owner, Mr Silver -- draw Daniel into a breathtaking world of magic and enchantment.

Recruited as Mr Silver's apprentice, Daniel learns the secrets of the Emporium's vast labyrinth of passageways and rooms -- rooms that contain wonders beyond anything Daniel has ever imagined.

But when Mr Silver disappears, and a shadow from the past threatens everything, the Emporium and all its wonders begin to crumble... Can Daniel save his home, and his new friends, before the Nowhere Emporium is destroyed forever?

Today is , so we're shining a light on My Name is Samim - the beautifully written and compelling debut from Fidan Meikle.

Thirteen-year-old Samim is a loyal friend, a gifted chess player -- and a refugee. After his family is killed in a bombing, Samim makes a long, dangerous journey from Afghanistan to the UK. But even then his safety isn't guaranteed: Samim must tell his story to convince the authorities to let him stay for good.

Thanks to Tom Palmer, The Guardian and Amnesty International UK for these wonderful reviews!

🧸 Abdullah's Bear Needs a Name! 🧸
Don't miss the joint online book launch with Yasmin Hanif, Michael Fellowes and Mohammed Salihu, hosted by Katie Goh. Tickets: https://scottishbpocwritersnetwork.org/group-online-book-launch-9-december-2025/ Scottish BPOC Writers Network

Abdullah loves his new teddy bear! It used to belong to his abba, who encourages him to guess its name.

Abdullah’s siblings, friends and classmates all have suggestions — Henry, Katie, Olivia, Archibald — but none of them feels right…

Until he hears a family story and has an idea: What if the bear has a name like his own?

Yasmin Hanif wrote Abdullah's Bear Needs a Name! after working with schoolchildren on a project to tackle the lack of diversity in children's books. The story was inspired by the real-life experience of children from South Asian backgrounds defaulting to traditionally European names for a teddy bear.

Sophie Benmouyal's bold and fun illustrations are full of character, texture and authentic details - like the Glasgow-inspired street scene in the second image, and the names of some of the children Yasmin worked with on the classroom wall in the third!
