It crashed into the harbour. The divers found nothing. 🌊

A UFO encounter so official that the authorities themselves wrote "UFO" in the report — and then put it on a coin.

October 4, 1967. Around 11:20 PM, residents of S**g Harbour, Nova Scotia watched a large amber object with flashing lights drop at a steep angle and slam into the water.

RCMP officers saw it too. Within minutes the Mounties, the Coast Guard, and local fishermen were searching the harbour. The next morning, Canadian military divers joined in.

They found no wreckage. No debris. No missing aircraft was ever reported. Just patches of strange yellow foam and a lingering sulfur smell on the water.

The official file classified the object as a UFO — one of the few cases in history where the government used the word itself.

Decades later, Canada honored the incident with a Royal Canadian Mint glow-in-the-dark coin.
