Sorry it's a long one...
Flashback to me old naughty knicker shop π€ Yes, I did own an adult shop once, in fact I've had two naughty shops! Business is business hey. Even as a child I had small businesses, selling Teddy's, car washing, anything! I even started my own dance school in my mom's front garden π
12p a class!
But since growing up (well mostly) I've always been in business, I started my career as a enthusiastic graphic designer and enjoyed learning from peers in an advertising agency, before moving to Evesham. But I have always had a passion for business opportunities. Hence my colourful background in my business ventures. Evesham helped me grow as an entrepreneur.
I opened at My first printing shop in Evesham at 24 years old, KT Design & Print, and then Printed Clothing co. And then Adam & Eves, and here I am in the photo below, at 33 years old... and at my third retail shop, in Stratford Upon Avon. It really is the best experience running shops, in a community, and I certainly ran varied shops. I learnt so much, the lows the highs!
And even though I am still self employed, and not in retail anymore, the journey continues and I love every minute of running my two businesses today, it's given me invaluable experience so that I can relate to retailers and business start ups. Never regret a thing. What hasn't broken me has made me stronger.
This is why I love helping small independent businesses grow online and on the High Streets!
My two business babies are Evesham Noticeboard Recommended a successful social media advertising directory. running for 3 years. And The Bright Ideas Marketing Agency that has evolved so much, like with the times, I have gone from creating print ads, and managing printed materials to now managing social media and SEO accounts, running for 14 years and still going strong.
So this year I am 50! The big 50 and my imposter syndrome is finally going, and I feel incredibly proud of what I have achieved and exciting for what the future holds. Who knows, this time next year Rodney π
I'm always happy to share an hour of discussion with local business owners. From budding business entrepreneurs or struggling business owners (as long as they bring cake) Just let me know!
