As I write this on my laptop at the breakfast bar in my kitchen at 1am, my three children are all asleep in their own bedrooms and my better half is sound asleep.
After 3 forced moves in the last 3 years, for the first time in 5 years, we are in a secure home in a beautiful setting that we all love.
My mrs is happy here, the kids absolutely love it. I love it too, but that’s trivial compared to how happy I am that they are all happy here.
We feel settled, like a weight has been lifted. I’d forgotten what that felt like, but it’s magic. It’s priceless, and worth more than any money we may or may not make.
Best of all, it’s allowed all of us to turn our attention to our individual futures, to focus on living life itself, to think to plan, to strive, to progress.
It’s a feeling of immense luxury and privilege, and it’s what I want to help as many people as I can achieve too.
It’s why I rail so hard against the horrendous overuse of temporary accommodation.
It’s why I say “fix housing, fix everything” because if people and especially families with small kids feel settled and safe, their lives will shift gear and progress will surge, compared to being trapped somewhere you’re unsettled, insecure, or have no peace.
It’s been extremely difficult to focus on work, on bringing BestAgent to market, on seeing family and living life, until now.
So now, it’s time to catch up. Things have already shifted gears at BestAgent in a big way which I will reveal as soon as I can. We are going to change the housing market, and make it easier for more people to find their peaceful place of prosperity.
Wishing you all the best in these turbulent times, and another great weekend.
Charlie (and family).
