The Raleigh Chopper and its siblings, the Tomahawk & the Chipper were responsible for some bad tumbles in the 1970s.

The short wheelbase and high center of gravity made it quite unstable at speed, especially during sharp turns or sudden stops. They would constantly pop a wheelie and the front wheels would wobble at the worst moments. This instability led to countless over-the-handlebar accidents and a fair share of missing or chipped front teeth.

Red booths, metal trays, proper cutlery — and burgers that came to your table with a smile. If you were lucky, you got a Knickerbocker Glory or a Brown Derby for afters. Luxury eh 😄
