I'm very pleased to announce that I am now working with the Overworld-AMP team, giving access for more young people to communicate their feelings through music.🙏🏻

They have a fantastic educational programme for many needs, with recognised certification of skills.

Had a great session today with the twins, they wanted to work with Minecraft "memes" - little quotes and samples from the film with beats! We are getting all of it sampled up so that they can do their very own Minecraft track 😎

After my appearance on BBC Berkshire earlier this week, they called me up and asked me to do a quiz on Friday! I won't give it away... ;). Was great fun, and well done to Maria! I wouldn't have got a few of her questions! 😊

It's been a busy but positive few months at Stand Tall, working with new and existing students on an eclectic variety of projects. Every day is different and I love it..! I can't believe that it's nearly a year since I took this leap of faith, with a unique offering that is demonstrably helping people of all ages with any aspect of music.

I am also very pleased to announce that I'm going to be working with Kane FM's award-winning "Mindwaves" project again, following a successful campaign to get much-needed funding. The project is very much aligned to what I am doing with Stand Tall in terms of working with young-people of all needs to express themselves and get positivity from music.

I'm very much looking forward to meeting the new students and maybe, in some small way, help people to realise their potential. ❤️🎧🎹

I am extremely proud to announce that I have just passed my Level 2 certification in Understanding Autism!

It's been a lot of work in a very short time for a not-very academic 58-year old, and being honest, with more considered thought and application than I ever managed at school... :)

Ultimately, it's about giving individuals a voice and respect for their individual needs, which should apply across society, whether neurodiverse or neurotypical.

As we begin a new year, I should reflect on a crazy 2024 for me.

A year ago today we had just built a hobby studio for my music (mainly to get my decks and records out of our living room :)) and I was still working in IT, however, little did i know that I would lose my job 3 months later..

Somehow fate intervened, and with a shot of serendipity mixed with a dash of solid support, I was able to take a leap of faith and start to share my experience with music and DJing.

I am now working with 11 students, ranging from 10-62, making great music while teaching and absolutely loving my job!

Wishing all of you and yours love for a peaceful and healthy 2025.

Had another great music session with a 10-year old autistic lad today.
We have been making new tunes together and learning the production side of things for a few months now. He has also separately been learning guitar and drums, so I have now gone down the route of multi-tracking him playing his guitar and adding some basic drums so that we can dovetail with his music tuition and he gets some sense of how his guitar learning can sound in context.
