What a fantastic castle! Just look at the library! I’d be rather delighted to spend a few hours in there checking out the amazing collection of books.

Sitting in the garden and appreciating what surrounds us. Gazing up at the beauty of nature the shapes I can see and of course the wonderful blue sky.

How beautiful is this ? Does anyone know the story behind it ? Brodies Castle

This takes me right back… ā¤ļø

My granny had one of these old servant bell boxes in her house. Every room had its own bell, and when someone pulled a cord, a little indicator would drop to show where the call had come from.

As a child, I was fascinated by it. I’d stand staring at all the little sections, imagining the stories it could tell and the people who had lived there long before me.

In a world of smartphones and instant messages, there’s something wonderfully charming about these beautiful old pieces of history. They remind me of slower times, family visits, and the simple joy of exploring my granny’s house.

Who else remembers seeing one of these? I’d love to hear your memories. ā¤ļø

One of the most remarkable features of Brodie Castle is the stunning dining room ceiling, said to have been created as a wedding gift for a Brodie laird and his bride in the late 17th century. At first glance, it looks like an exquisitely carved wooden ceiling, but the real surprise is that it’s actually made entirely of plaster. Decorated with intricate scrollwork, mythical figures, heraldic symbols and unicorns, the craftsmanship is so extraordinary that most visitors don’t realise it’s not wood until they’re told. It’s a beautiful reminder of the skill, artistry and romance that have become part of Brodie Castle’s history. āœØšŸ° Brodie Castle & Estate NTS
