Been sat here crying cos tonight I did something I never thought was possible.

When I was 10 I started writing songs like people journal.

As a teenager I started working with a publisher, had 2 songs signed with a record label and on contract.

Life then happened and I found it almost impossible to get the songs recorded.

I shut the dream down and worked hard to accept it was over.

Over the years I’d write hear and there but didn’t have the time or knowledge to do anything else.

Then lately I’ve found space to get those old notebooks out and write again.

Tonight I put together my songs and signed up as my own record label and tomorrow my album will be released on many streaming platforms.

Then I cried.
Have I done the right thing.
What if I’m not good enough.

Then I realised I’d worked so hard to shut the dream away and I’m still protecting the young girl with a notebook.

Now I know the dream has changed.

It’s now, I hope someone hears this while they’re doing their housework and they feel heard.

I just have to keep writing and producing.

One more thing I’m gonna bloody say out loud now because I owe that girl with her notebook…
