If you love really good Indian food, needs to be on your radar 👀

A buzzy and popular choice for evenings, parties and celebrations. For something a little more relaxed, headed along with a friend for a midweek lunch and catch-up.

Seriously good Indian food, beautifully presented, with a huge menu and plenty of dishes made for sharing.

Delhi Highway arrived in Gerrards Cross last year, taking over a site that was previously home to another Indian restaurant that closed a couple of years ago. So if you think you already know this spot, it's time to take another look. It’s the first Delhi Highway in the UK, joining established restaurants in India and Dubai.

And if you’re coming from Leighton Buzzard, make a day of it. Beaconsfield and Old Amersham are both nearby, with gorgeous independent shops and plenty to wander around. Definitely worth venturing a little further afield if you fancy trying somewhere different.

Fabulous day at Creative Hub Studio with Kerry Galliano an award-winning colourist and transformative hair specialist who completely understood the brief: lived-in, not trying too hard, but still gorgeous, polished hair. Find out more: creativehubstudio.co.uk

We wanted something that would take Miranda from summer into autumn, without going too warm, which her hair naturally loves to do.

Miranda is so happy with the balayage, cut and styling. It feels fresh and healthy (carefully blending in and hiding those greys 👀), but still really natural and low-maintenance. Exactly the polished everyday look she wanted.

And what a lovely place to spend a few hours. The Creative Hub Studio brings together independent hair, beauty and wellness professionals in a gorgeous, relaxed countryside setting just outside Milton Keynes.

And a little reminder if you’re visiting: bring along any old hairbrushes, unwanted unopened hair or body products, shower gels or those unused gift sets sitting in the cupboard. Kerry and the team clean and refresh donated brushes and put together care packages for local women’s shelters. It’s an initiative they started here and one that’s now being replicated in more than 26 locations.

A lovely little local discovery 🌱

Pickle Patch is a nature-inspired children’s clothing brand based in the Chiltern Hills, founded by mum and former graphic designer Kat, who designs and hand-prints the clothing locally.

We were kindly gifted the 'Never Stop Growing' T-shirt and matching shorts, along with a postcard, sticker and packet of wildflower seeds. Such a lovely touch and, as you can see, the seeds were a hit!

I also think this would make such a lovely gift for a little one. Something fun for them to unwrap, but something they’ll actually wear and enjoy rather than another plastic toy.

There’s lots more to discover too, including babygrows, T-shirts, sweatshirts, dresses, PJs, adult pieces and accessories.

After planting our seeds, we headed over to .farm for a delicious breakfast and a morning enjoying the sunshine. There were lots of strategic napkins to keep her clean from jam and hot chocolate 😂

Harefest weekend is nearly here 🎶

Saturday is our Family Day, and Sunday is all about chilling out with an open mic stage between 2-4pm (free entry on Sunday).

But first up… Friday night.

Friday is over 18s only, with indie, 90s and house, including a celebration marking one year since Oasis returned to the stage. Featuring supported by and plus fresh from Wilderness festival spinning the decks.

The garden closes at 11pm, but the night doesn’t end there. We’re carrying on inside with a DJ after-party into the early hours, and there are only a very small handful of after-party tickets left.

Skip the cooking and head to Southcott Village for a relaxed summer barbecue with family or friends. Weather forecast this Sunday? A perfect 🌤️

Choose your favourites from the grill, served with homemade slaw, potato salad and corn on the cob. Add a crisp pint or a refreshing spritz, find a spot in the sunshine, and let someone else do the cooking. and family joined last Sunday and might be dropping the supermarket shop next Sunday to return here instead...

There are just three more Sunday barbecues to enjoy before The Hare's famous Sunday roasts return in September, so now's the time to make the most of them. Parking available but if you live nearby perfect for a boozy lunch and walk home.
