Everyone knows that Café Sunlight serves delicious hot and cold food Monday to Friday from 10am til 2pm, but did you know it's part of our bigger employability scheme? Our volunteers get training, qualifications, and meaningful experience in a real workplace, which employers love to see! Some of the crew have additional needs, some are at risk of social exclusion, and some are coming back into the job market after a long absence. Café Sunlight gives them opportunities to learn and grow that they not get anywhere else. It all shows how volunteering can improve your life chances, and empower you to find full time work!

Sunlight Dementia Support Café offers calm, company, and a safe place to just be. People can relax, share moments, and feel understood. Carers get breathing space, connection, and reassurance. Alogether, it makes life feel a little lighter. Join John, Win, Melissa and their team of experienced volunteers every Wednesday in the hall between 1pm and 3pm.

If you’re planning a relaxed weekend gathering, Café Sunlight’s vibrant seating area is a great low cost option. Available Saturdays and Sundays from 9am–5pm, it’s perfect for informal meet ups, creative sessions or community activities. While hire doesn’t include kitchen access and people may occasionally pass through to reach other spaces, that’s why we can offer it at just £24 an hour, which is excellent value for a bright, welcoming venue. Had a lovely day with the Wednesday exercise group on our trip by train to Margate today. Won some bits and bought some bits , had to be fish and chips at the seaside. Also cheese and pickle sarnie in memory of my mum ❤️
