"I'm tired of people saying (defections) are for my people. Every politician is living for himself. Anytime I'm watching a leader say, 'Oh, the reason we took it is for the overall interest of my people,' Haba they should stop scamming Nigerians." - Dele Momodu.

A prominent business executive and socialite, Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu, has been “arrested” by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), according to her legal team.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has called on all members of the APC to put President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 above their personal ambitions.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Keyamo said Tinubu needs a second term to complete the reforms he has begun in governance. He warned that it would be a setback if another government takes over in 2027 and halts these initiatives, as has happened in the past.

He said, “Every single APC member in Nigeria today should be concentrating on the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu irrespective of whether it affects your personal interest or not.”

Keyamo also reacted to the recent defection of Delta State Governor to the APC. He said he had stepped aside to allow the governor lead the party in Delta, describing it as a sacrifice for the greater good of the APC and Tinubu’s re-election. “Whether I lose out politically or not is irrelevant. What matters is ensuring Mr President is re-elected,” Keyamo stated.

Tories Eye Leadership Change as Badenoch Struggles

The UK Conservative Party is considering removing Kemi Badenoch as leader, just six months after she took over from Rishi Sunak.

More than two dozen Tory MPs and officials told Bloomberg they believe Badenoch cannot lead the party into the next general election, set for 2029. Support is quietly shifting toward right-wing shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick as a potential replacement.

The unrest comes amid dire poll numbers and frustration that Badenoch has failed to revive Tory fortunes, particularly as Nigel Farage's Reform Party gains ground. Although Jenrick recently backed Badenoch in a GB News interview, insiders say momentum is building against her.

Local elections this Thursday are expected to deepen the crisis. Analysts predict a near-total wipeout for the Tories, following last year's historic general election defeat. Current polling shows the party trailing Labour and even Reform, casting doubt on Badenoch's leadership.

Peter Obi was banned from visiting my state because he didn't follow protocols – Benue Gov. Hyacinth Alia speaks.

He stated this on Thursday, April 24, while appearing on TVC.

Last week, Alia said he could not guarantee the safety of any individual or group visiting Benue without his knowledge or clearance after barring Mr Obi from visiting the state.

However, Mr Obi took to X to lament that his planned visit to Benue was politicised.

INEC to Legalise Voting Without PVCs in 2027.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it is open to allowing eligible Nigerians to vote without Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in the 2027 general elections — but only if the law is amended to support the move.

Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, made this known on Wednesday. He emphasized that while the commission is committed to expanding voter access through technology, any change must be aligned with legal provisions. This follows comments made by INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, in December 2024 during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners.

Yakubu had suggested that the exclusive use of PVCs for accreditation should be reconsidered. “The commission also believes that with the introduction of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), the use of the Permanent Voters’ Cards as the sole means of identification for voter accreditation on Election Day should be reviewed,” Yakubu said.
