Come along and check out some of the acts we have coming up for future episodes of Backbone Bites, as well as previous guests from Oh Lockdown, How We Laughed! 📡🎭🎙️

Backbone return to The Griffin for 3 shows at this year’s Glasgow International Comedy Festival on the 14th/21st/28th of March with a different line up of brilliant comedians who’re performing at the festival.

Ticket Link In Comments 🎟️

Backbone Comedy is the creation of Glasgow Comic Jimi Longmuir. When he first started performing in 2019, a few of his performing friends would gather to try out new ideas and material in the basement of the legendary Blackfriars venue in Merchant City every Saturday afternoon.

That led to a couple of chaotic nights at the venue proper, as well as the Tennents Bar on Byres Rd. Along with projects online throughout the Pandemic and live shows since at clubs and festivals across the country, Backbone have become a collective that showcases a diverse and dynamic range of voices.

For 2024, we are excited to be back and part of the GICF, once again with Gigging It Up at The Griffin. This is our second year running at this historic venue with Gigging It Up for GICF and we can't wait to return

Back in the dark days of the Global Pandemic, Glasgow Comic Jimi Longmuir kept himself busy by doing Zoom gigs and eventually interviewing the many weird and wonderful participants on a podcast named "Oh Lockdown, How We Laughed". Intended as a Time Capsule, little thought was given to the fact it would be a permanent record of an Era noone really wants to remember too clearly.

In the 3 years since life and StandUp Comedy has gradually returned to a redefined Normal, Jimi has been gigging more than ever and also developing his hobby of taking photos at pretty much every show. From local open mics and weekend Social Club gigs to bigger clubs such as The Stand, Blackfriars, Monkey Barrel and Hot Water as well as internationally renowned Festivals like Edinburgh Fringe and GICF, Jimi has performed with Comedians from all walks of life and an extremely wide range of styles and experience. And has the pictures to prove it....

Now, as a follow up to Oh Lockdown, How We Laughed, Backbone Comedy is proud to present "Backbone Bites", a Youtube exclusive podcast that explores what life and comedy has been like since we emerged from the shadow cast by COVID-19.

For our first guest, we have Ginger Media LTD's Andrew Durning who is the creator of a vast range of podcasting entertainment including , , and more. As a previous guest on many of these shows, and proud presenter of Andrew at various gigs over the last three years Jimi could not have picked a more perfect person to open this run of chats with. We hope you have as good a time watching this podcast as we did in the making of it. Enjoy, and come see us at Glasgow International Comedy Festival this March! 🎤🤩👍
