Sometimes I need to stop and remind myself how far things have come.

I started my business with a borrowed old MacBook and an iPhone that barely worked, no plan, no big investment, just a drive to make something out of nothing.

Fast forward to now, and I’m working with global magazine houses, which still blows my mind a bit.

What most people don’t know is that I actually left school back in 2000 to study journalism. All I ever wanted was to be around stories, design, and magazines. And now, at 41, I’ve somehow found my way right back there, just through a very different route.

They say “your network is your net worth”, and to be honest, I’ve always found that a bit cheesy.

But, there are certain people in my industry that I feel really lucky to have connected with. As someone who can be pretty socially awkward (especially at big networking events!), it makes all the difference to spot a few familiar, friendly faces in the room.

We spent an evening in our capital last night for this brilliant event on angel investing ✨

Hearing from inspiring investors like Anne Doyle, Jennifer Nicoll and Samantha Rhynas alongside founders Dr Kate Cameron and Olivia Parkes at was a real highlight. From lessons learned on their journeys into investing, to the founder perspective on fundraising and what makes a truly great angel, the conversations were open, honest and packed with insight.

Nights like this remind me how important it is to create space for connection and shared experience in business.

To step up on stage at the Female Founders Growth Summit, where so many incredible people have stood before me, was such an honour.

It’s taken me almost a full day to find the words because the experience created such a shift in me. Being in that room, surrounded by inspiring founders and leaders, reminded me just how powerful these spaces are for connection, learning, and growth.
