Elderly residents at one of Scotland's largest care homes were left crying out for help, soaked in urine and terrified during basic personal care, a shocking undercover investigation has revealed 🚨

Described as a luxury facility, Castlehill Care Home in Inverness costs up to Β£,1800 per week and has beds for 88 people.

The home has been branded "cruel" and "neglectful" by families after BBC Disclosure sent a journalist inside posing as a cleaner.

For seven weeks, the journalist witnessed shocking scenes including pensioners with dementia who were left sitting in wet clothes or lying in soiled bedsheets for hours at a time.

Other residents were ignored as they begged for help and one woman was even heard screaming in terror as male carers attempted to carry out intimate personal care against her wishes.

Linda Larkin whose mother-in-law lived at Castlehill told the BBC: "She was completely distressed. She was wringing her hands. She was scared.

"I trusted them. And they've seriously let us down, and they've let her down. That's cruelty."

Another family member, Susan Christie, secretly placed a camera in her father’s room after noticing his poor condition. Footage captured a worker violently shaking his bed and even prodding him with a walking stick.
