NEXT SATURDAY: DAR DISKU 🌴🌍
We’re super hyped to welcome DAR DISKU 🌍 دار الدسكو down Southside for a special 2-hour vinyl session as part of their world tour, and our wee 3rd birthday!

Bahrain-born childhood friends Mazen and Vish have been digging and making music together since their teens, tracing the connections between the traditional SWANA sounds of those earlier years with later influences from the likes of Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk, Daft Punk, and Talking Heads.

Dar Disku (which translates to “The House of Disco”) have been digging deep and introducing dancefloors around the world to sounds from across Arabia and beyond - Habibi House, Bollywood, Sawt, Iranian psych & punk, Arabic and Nigerian disco and all sorts of beautiful oddities, blended into beefy Italo, disco not disco and sounds of the club underground.

We’ve been big fans of their label releases for a long time now, including those from Moving Still, who we’ve had play at WOT before. Along the way they’ve shared stages with Habibi Funk, Palms Trax, Hunee, and Awesome Tapes From Africa.

To celebrate, we're super hyped to welcome DAR DISKU 🌍 دار الدسكو to The Rum Shack on Saturday 5th September. We've been fans of their vinyl releases and Radio Laziz show for quite some time now and we can't wait to have them join us for our birthday!

Three years of global groove heaters, shoulder shakers, trippy music videos and sweaty little dancefloors. A massive thank you to everybody who's come down for a dance over the years. We really couldn't do it without the energy you bring to the floor! 💜

If you've never caught Dar Disku before, you're in for something special. Raised together in Bahrain, they've spent years digging through forgotten sounds from across Arabia and beyond, weaving together Arabidisco, Khaliji hi-NRG, Rai, Habibi House, Bollywood, Sawt, psychedelia, 70s punk rock from Iran, 80s Egyptian Disco and all sorts of beautiful oddities from every corner of the globe into beefy italo disco and sounds of the club underground.

Along the way they've shared stages with artists including Habibi Funk, Nabihah Iqbal, Palms Trax, Hunee, Esa and Awesome Tapes From Africa, while their label releases have found their way into record bags and dancefloors around the world.

We'll obvs be digging deep too with our psychedelic rhythms, spicy edits and plenty of records to get you warmed up and moving.

🌍 Big love to everybody who came down for a dance with us at Kelburn Garden Party. What a weekend... always full of all the mischief, sillyness and fun!

A wee change of scenery for us this year with a Sunday night session at the Saloon Stage with Strawberry Jam Sound System , you lot brought the heat and good vibes from start to finish. Thank you for dancing through the rain with us!

Massive thanks and to the Kelburn crew, Chris Astrojazz and everybody behind the festival for having us back. We always leave with full hearts. 💚

Who's ready for a good dance?
Tomorrow night we're back in the Rum Shack with another stack of trippy music videos on the walls, rhythms from all over the place n beyond, and a room full of lovely people ready to let loose for a few hours.

We always love that little moment at the start of the night when people are locked into watching the visuals whilst dancing before the floor fills up. 

Very last advance tickets remaining now (🔗 in bio) and it's looking like a busy one! As always we'll keep 30 back for the door, but if that's your plan come down early anyway.
