Happy Sunday! 💛

This morning was a real pinch me moment seeing a column I wrote in The Sunday Post (look mum, it’s me!). I love nothing more than constantly sharing my recommendations with family, friends, and strangers on the Internet so it was really lovely to see some of my favourites in physical print 🥹

How to spend a solo day in Edinburgh - save for later 📍

1. Head to Greenwood’s for a massive breakfast/brunch (portion sizes are huge and don’t forget to order the peanut butter salted caramel latte it’s incredible)
2. Enjoy all the gorgeous architecture whilst walking to Stockbridge and enjoy time in this trendy neighbourhood
3. Visit Circus Lane in Stockbridge, the picture perfect cobbled street for all your insta shots
4. Head to the Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh and spend a couple of hours walking round soaking all the beautiful nature in (I couldn’t believe this was free entry)
5. Join the Water of Leith Walkway at Stockbridge and follow it until you get to Dean Village, a historic former milling village away from the hustle and bustle of the city
6. Head to Waterstone’s on Princes Street and grab a coffee and cake at their cafe with views of the famous Edinburgh Castle
7. Treat yourself to some gorgeous Italian dishes for dinner at Little Capo (the Spritz Framboise is the perfect drink to accompany your meal)
8. Finish off with ice-cream at Basement Gelato Co (order the brown butter ice-cream, and if you fancy two scoops combine it with the sea salt and caramel)

If you find yourself exploring Culross then be sure to stop in at The Mercat for a hot drink and sweet treat like I did on Sunday.

Located in the heart of this well preserved medieval town, this recently opened cafe adds to the charm and allows you to sit back and soak in the picturesque cobbled streets and houses.

The coffee was great and their baked goods even better - we opted for an earl grey soaked fruit scone with clotted cream and homemade plum jam, and a slice of their banana, pecan and dark chocolate loaf 🤩

Afterwards have a browse at their homeware, goods and provisions before continuing exploring this quaint town.
