A wee update from me at Moonbeam Bakes 🌙💛

I just wanted to take a moment to properly explain a few changes happening within the café side of the business and thank everyone who has continued to support me on this journey 💛

Most people know Moonbeam Bakes mainly for wedding cakes, birthday cakes and celebration cakes, and that is still my main source of income. The café side of the business is still very new and something I’ve been trying so hard to build into a cosy, welcoming little community space where people can come in for affordable food, coffee and homemade bakes ☕🍰

Since opening, I’ve done everything I can to keep prices low because I know everyone is struggling with the cost of living right now. I never wanted people to feel they couldn’t afford to come in for a coffee and cake.

But the reality is that the costs behind running a small café have been far higher than I ever anticipated — especially electricity, stock, supplies and day-to-day running costs. As much as I’ve tried to absorb these increases myself, it’s getting to the stage where I need to make small changes to keep the café side of Moonbeam Bakes sustainable long term.

My £5 deal will absolutely still stay because I know so many people love it and rely on affordable lunch options:
🖤 Toastie/sandwich
🖤 Homemade cake or scone
🖤 Hot drink
🖤 Tuesday–Friday | 10am–2pm

Outside of those times, there will need to be some slight price increases across parts of the menu going forward.

I’m also hoping to extend my opening hours soon to:
✨ Monday–Saturday | 9am–4pm
✨ Plus every second Sunday

I’m trying my best to grow this into something really special for the community while still continuing my wedding and celebration cake work behind the scenes 🎂✨

Every coffee bought, every cake ordered, every share, recommendation and kind comment genuinely helps more than you probably realise. Supporting a small business right now truly does make a difference and I’ll always be grateful for it 💛
