This week, I wanted to share something personal. I often walk on Robinswood Hill in Gloucester and have spent countless hours sitting on this bench, sometimes reading a book and soaking up the sunshine after a stroll. Unfortunately, a group of teenagers thought it would be "fun" to set it on fire, leaving it unusable for everyone.
Please, consider reading a book instead of destroying local amenities!

The first week of the summer holidays is nearly over, and like my neighbour, many students are returning from trips abroad. (He visited Sri Lanka and came back enriched and thrilled by his experience.) While there's nothing quite like the immersive experience of exploring a foreign culture firsthand, there are plenty of books that can transport you and offer a glimpse into different cultures. Enjoy your summer holiday, and remember, we're here to help with all your book-buying needs!

This week's book is new to me but reading such as this "The Girl of Ink and Stars is elegantly enchanting, filled with mixed emotions, sadness and hope." it sounds like a book I would enjoy.

We just want to give a shout out to a publisher who we use for many schools. In a recent order we were able to save a school just over £1,000 on their order.

I was studying my A levels when this book was first published and can still remember discussing Nature v's Nurture in our General Studies class as a result of our teacher, Miss Jowett, having been to see the play. Forty years later and I'm sure the debate continues 🤓.

You can never start too early to learn how important it is to read a book.😃

🗣️”The books I read as a child were all Doctor Who books! There were hundreds of episodes, which were all novelised, and that's all I ever wanted to read. I loved monsters, aliens and other creatures. I remember being obsessed with the Loch Ness Monster and the Yeti. I don't think they scared me, but there's was something about the unknown that tickled my fancy.”
