I loved reading Arthur Conan Doyle during my school days, though I preferred his sci-fi novels like The Lost World and The Poison Belt over Sherlock Holmes. Regarding this book, I can only echo what the Sunday Times says on the back cover: 'Enthusiastically replicating the spirit, style, suspense, and atmosphere of Conan Doyle's stories, this skillfully crafted homage is an irresistible read.' It truly sounds like a fantastic book.

This week, I wanted to share something personal. I often walk on Robinswood Hill in Gloucester and have spent countless hours sitting on this bench, sometimes reading a book and soaking up the sunshine after a stroll. Unfortunately, a group of teenagers thought it would be "fun" to set it on fire, leaving it unusable for everyone.

(He visited Sri Lanka and came back enriched and thrilled by his experience.)
