The influence of secondary colour energies in our Insights profile really contribute to what makes us truly unique.

For instance, I lead with Fiery Red energy followed by Sunshine Yellow which shows up when I'm at my best as competitive and collaborative. Through this understanding I can start to create the conditions that help me to really thrive.

As a coach much of my work whether its with Leaders, Teams or Organisations centres around helping my clients to identify that sweet-spot that sits at the centre of this model. Eight years ago when i moved from a corporate role to starting my own business this model was at the centre of my focus. It's incredible how, when you are clear on the sweet-spot, other concerns and issues disappear and clarity surfaces.

Ahead of my holiday I've been trawling through my bookcase and deciding what to read again.

Love this book and If you hate Networking or Public Speaking, this ones for you. It's born out of a study that featured in the New York Times that placed death third on the list of peoples biggest fears. The top two were walking into a room full of strangers and speaking in public.

Fabulous podcast from 'Don’t Tell Me The Score' about Mental Health. I've found throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic that my I'm really struggling at times and a lot more up and down than normal - this really helped.

The podcast is highly practical, relatable and well worth a listen. Oh and if you’re not into sports, don't worry its not about sport! Sir John Kirwan is a rugby legend who was knighted for his work in mental health, he's also a Kiwi and down to earth.

Why do teams fail to meet their potential?

In over 30 years of leading and coaching teams in all sorts of organisations I'm always struck by just how often and by how far teams miss their performance potential. Even when they are packed with hugely talented individuals.

Well clearly there are lots of reasons why teams underperform, but a starting point is almost always a lack of trust. In this talk, Brené Brown breaks down Trust into its component parts in an incredibly accesible way. Her model for trust is well researched and has helped provoke some of the biggest shifts in team cohesion and commitment in my clients.
