Amazing weekend in the studio with these lads ! 🎶 We spent both days working on one track, which meant we had the time to make sure every part was tracked to a high standard, while also experimenting with different sounds. The guys came in with a great demo that really helped me lock in on their vibe and the production direction. They absolutely smashed their takes, and the song is already sounding awesome! 🔥

🎛️ It’s All About the Bass! 🎛️

But let’s be real — mixing bass in an untreated room is a nightmare.
If your mix position has a null, you’ll probably boost the low end, thinking it’s too quiet… when in reality, you’re just overcompensating.
Or worse — your room boosts certain frequencies, and you end up cutting bass that should’ve stayed in. The result? A mix that sounds weak and flat everywhere else. 😩

That’s why we teamed up with Paul from to tackle our room head-on.
Building and hanging our custom bass traps wasn’t easy — but Paul was adamant: “You need to trust what you’re hearing, not what your room is tricking you into hearing.”

These traps are hidden cleanly behind fabric and a dado rail, so you won’t even notice them when you visit — but you’ll hear the difference.

Another bargain was had this weekend where we grabbed a D112 to add to our ever growing mic locker collection. Some people love this mic others hate it, but it’s always nice to have different flavours available when micing up the kick drum 🥁 🎚️🎤
