For those curious about the pack dynamics on IndieVelo, here's a recording, without commentary of a race over 1 lap of the Coastal Route (16km, 50m elevation). At around the 10 minute mark you can see the effect of the 8kph wind, with the pack speed dropping below 40kph, yet once we swing round the corner the speed picks up to over 50kph, making it hard to move up. This certainly adds a new dynamic. Also check out the high road /low road split where riders can choose which route to take.

A little faster than at the beginning of the week
A little cooler too which helped
Not all about the speed these days there's always someone faster than me. I enjoyed it, and that's what counts. I now have some calories spare too.
Will give me some good memories for when I'm riding it on over the winter.

And Just like that VCNTT is 100 events old.
Started by Mike Lister many moons ago as Magic Road Events Time Trial (MRETT) the format quickly became a firm favourite amongst the RGT riders. The ability to choose a time that suited the riders (always a tricky one with upto 6 people to organise) and a good variety of courses. Paired with the realistic drafting dynamics of RGT was an instant hit.
As time passed the stewardship of the event moved to VCN and since then with the exellent work of Nick Greenhalgh and Falk Levien and the continued support of many teams throughout the RGT community. The event has continued to grow and is now more that just a team time trial. There are scheduled organised group rides / course recces, group races, an ITT competition and the original self timed TTT.
It's a friendly competition with newcomers welcome and Team Lou Cycling Club even have a development team whose sole purpose is to assist riders in getting involved in the competition regardless of their skill or experience.
