Carousels have consistently been one of the most engaging content types here on Instagram.

The ability to now be able to add videos means they are having even more of a moment right now.

Your audience will love that they can scroll through at their own pace and the ‘movement’ of video naturally encourages more dwell time on your content (which the algorithm will be happy about 😉)

Everything you need to know about creating them is here so hit save if you want to refer back to later.

Unfortunately we can’t (yet) write text over videos as a carousel so you need to do this in Canva (like I’ve described) or you can create in Stories where you can add text and then download (you just need to be careful of your text placement this way)

Most definitely one to add to your content plan for June 😊

⚠️IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Your up to date security checklist - because I’ve been hearing some really horrible stories lately about accounts being hacked or people being locked out of profiles 😢

Here are some other things I really want you to watch out for 👇

The scary DMs saying “your account has been flagged”? They are nearly always fake. Instagram will never DM you. Every genuine alert comes through your app settings only.

Never share your login details. Not with anyone. Not even someone claiming to be from Instagram or Meta support. Real platforms will never, ever ask for your password.

Suspicious links in your DMs? If you don’t recognise the account, just don’t click. When in doubt don’t leave it alone.

Finally, when having a follower cleanse don’t delete too many in one go - this can sometimes result in Instagram temporarily locking your account (no more than 20-30 each session is what I’d recommend)

The good news is that most of this takes under 20 minutes. And once it’s done, it’s done and you’ll have peace of mind that your account is as secure as it can be.

Hello Instagram instants 👋

Have you had a play? Are you thinking why on earth do I need this?! Or maybe you haven’t spotted them hiding in your DMs yet…

Instants was rolled out last week and is a feature that lets you share real, unedited, disappearing photos with your close friends and followers, straight from your DMs (think Snapchat, but inside Instagram)

Definitely sits in the fun and quick content camp…I think they could be great for small business owners as encourage quick, raw, authentic content (which your audience will love) AND are an easy way to show your face here if this is something you find tricky - instants are small, only get seen by mutual followers, and disappear after 24 hrs 🙌

IMPORTANT security feature you need to know about for your Instagram account (after 2 of my clients were hacked last week 😔)

Canva templates will return soon (unless Insta gods love how ‘raw’ I’ve gone with this one!)

Setting up the verification selfie takes about 3 minutes in total and means you have another layer of security on your account.

Please also check that you have your 2 factor authentication turned ON whilst in your password menu. If you aren’t happy sharing a selfie this is a good security alternative.
