Early doors Sunday solo slowness out St Leonards way…Took a morning stroll out and about to make the best of the ☀️. Had one of the finer brekkies I’ve had out here in a place (ashamedly) that I hadn’t stepped foot in the 4 years I’ve been here. Shouts out to the Kino-Teatr • St Leonards for setting up the entire day food wise! Must check out the cinema there in due course too. The main event was to check out the new go to clothes spot in town and got fully sorted out by Carter the unstoppable vintage machine in his brand new shop space on Kings rd. All manner of excellently curated, across the board pieces. I ticked my 90s hiphop box with a lightweight Tommy Hilfiger jacket (enough room for another coat?). At £30? Absolutely all day. Go peep his technique over at Carter's Vintage Supply and give the man some support. The rest of the day was then spent with Sarah Meredith and all crew dem down at Dark Circles suppin’ on caffeine brews ☕️💫😆

Back to Guernsey 🏝️ for a very short visit under sad circumstances so flipping the time into a more positive situation… with a very last minute DJ shoe-in at one of Guernsey’s finest spots in Fukku (foo-koo) - I have some tunes to play. HASTINGS. 😆🤩 We have a top Funk floor burner coming first from Eldridge Holmes ‘Pop Popcorn Children backed on the flip with what I think has never come on a 45 ‘Foxy Woman’?! Secondly a summer funkafied reggae fun 2sider with the Nicky Thomas take on James Brown ‘Soul Power’ and the Bob Marley covering winner, LP only cut from The Chequers with ‘Get Up, Stand up!! (Cut at 33 as it’s long). Good stuff yo!✌️

Great brand new record drop. Barely buy any new music on wax these days but one of these was unboxed in the new arrivals upstairs at PM Book & Record Shop so I just snapped it up immediately. Mega disappointed when I unsealed it to see it littered with scuffs and marks. 🙄😕 I’ll be playing it tonight regardless at the Love Music Hate Racism show in the Pig with fellow Pressing Matters Record Shop staff spinner Voidstepping 💎 — do consider attendance if In Hastings. 👊🔊💫

Asked the question on FB as to what equipment the fellow DJs were using as I needed to get new carts/styli because my ancient Ortofon Q-Berts don’t appear to be contacting properly anymore… ANYWAY lots of responses on it but then thought I’d check the depths of the loft for a quick looksee for a spare cart. Turns out there was a few bits 🤣😅… pimped HD25s headphones and my original ACS custom ear plugs amongst it all. There was a pair of Vestax PDX 2300ii decks floating about in there too 🫣💀 I remember buying Shure 447 styli on carded strips for about £10-12 or so back in 98/2000s. Used to sell them from Sure-Shots website ex vat for £18 from Guernsey. Now the Jico equivalent are about 5 times that.
