We, Debbie Beauchamp and Hugh Newton ran the first Coming Home retreat in February 2024, excerpts of which were included in the documentary Boarding on Insanity. The feedback we received from participants was that they received great value from the retreat.

We are running our second Coming Home Retreat from 23rd - 26th October 2025 and invite you to join us if you have attended Boarding School and wish to bring understanding and healing to your experience during that time.

The retreat will provide you with an opportunity to explore, transform and heal negative experiences resulting from this time. In our experience, when our needs are not met during childhood, they continue to impact us into adulthood, particularly with regard to our behaviours and beliefs. Our focus this weekend is to support you to bring healing to your “inner child” and bring them back home with kindness and compassion.

In the documentary we spend 4 days in a retreat with a group of ex-boarders. The path of transformation was very powerful for me as a participant.

Piers has produced a documentary called, Boarding On Insanity, which features Dr Gabor Maté asks the question: Are our leaders traumatised? And if so what is the impact on society?

The film explores how so many global leaders went to boarding school. From Boris Johnson to Mark Zuckerberg, and from Donald Trump to Rupert Murdoch. As Professor Joy Schaverien writes: 'Boarding school syndrome is a symptom of serious psychological distress.' The documentary is part of a global movement to bring awareness of the impact of boarding schools on society."

Piers will be talking on this subject in the cafe space.
