Monro built a lume system nobody else is doing — an actual glowing capsule you can see through vents cut into the case itself. Cool idea but does it hold up in daily wear?

New watch alert for the Iron Hour Halocline Sea Foam — and yes, that backstory is as unusual as the name suggests.

This is a 43mm dive watch with a sea foam blue dial and a Sellita SW200-1 inside. I haven't spent time with it yet, so this isn't a review — it's a heads-up.

The brand has one of the more distinctive origin stories I've encountered in the independent watch world, and the dial colour is genuinely uncommon.

Does the ex*****on match the concept?

That's the question I can't answer yet. But I will do soon!

The Mezei Arctic Blue: icy dial, 40mm case, 11.7mm profile, Miyota 8215 automatic.

It's clean. It's cold. It stops you looking anywhere else. But does that dial really deserve the 'most stunning' badge, or is there something missing beneath the surface?

That's the question with a dial this bold — beauty alone doesn't make a watch worth wearing.

Here's where I've landed on all this, genuinely, no exaggeration: this is the best the microbrand watch space has ever been. More range, more ambition, more original ideas happening in more places at once than at any point since I started this channel.

But that's not permanent — some of what's out there right now won't be around in six months. If you've been waiting for the right moment to actually pay attention to this space, I think this is it. Curious — has anyone else felt that shift lately?

One of my favourite non-microbrand watches.

The Hamilton Khaki King — 40mm, Swiss automatic H-40 movement with an 80-hour power reserve, day-date complication. Clean military heritage, proper finishing, a movement you can actually rely on.

But here's the question: does a watch from a Swatch Group brand still count as a "real" tool watch, or has Hamilton moved too far into the mainstream?
