Huge news! Tom is MR HITCHIN 🫶🏻

After more than seven incredible years, Tom Hardy will be stepping down as Hitchin’s Town Centre Manager this October.

Since taking on the role, Tom has played a key part in championing Hitchin’s thriving business community, from steering the town through the challenges of the pandemic to delivering major events, campaigns and initiatives that have strengthened its local economy and sense of place.

He has led the small but dedicated Visit Hitchin team throughout, ensuring that the often-unseen “backstage” work of town centre management has run smoothly and professionally. Their behind-the-scenes efforts have helped make Hitchin’s events, communications and projects the success they are today.

Reflecting on his time in the role, Tom said:
“This has been so much more than a job for me, it’s truly been a privilege. I’ve worked with hundreds of amazing businesses and individuals, and I’ve never felt such genuine connection to a place as I have with Hitchin. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.”

Tom will remain in post until October, supporting a smooth handover and ensuring the town is well prepared for the busy festive period ahead.
