So a few of my better finds over the years have now had interest from local museums. They will now be going through the valuation process. I did ask the flo if I could just ‘ lend ‘ them to museums but they declined . Obviously if you’re going to detect you must do things properly for local history etc , but what with the time it takes to process finds ‘ and we’re talking years ‘ on a personal note it makes me wonder is it really worth the hassle 🤔
If I do find something say today the chances are in 2028 if I’m lucky I may get some sort of correspondence back from the FLO .

Another cracking find today , an intaglio seal . We’re thinking Georgian . The Georgian era was a period in British history from 1714 to 1837 . A few pics of the find along with a pic of our first Georgian King ( George the 1st ) The seal itself, the head looks Roman !! Odd ..

Dug a 1920 shilling yesterday, a fairly common find , sometimes taken for granted but when you go back 100 odd years .. Found this random pic of a guy stood by his car sometime in the 1920s , kind of puts detecting finds into some sort of perspective
