Sound the klaxon, pull the party popper, blow out the candles – we are officially one year old today 🎉🥳

First off, this year has gone whizzing by, and what a year it has been. We have been lucky enough to work with wonderful clients on a long-term basis and for project work, and here are just a few of our highlights from year 1…

🌟 Achieved a load of press coverage for our numerous clients across broadcast, print, online, and trade media

🌟 Launched creative campaigns from scratch to create awareness and increase customer footfall

🌟 Organised and supported sold-out launch events

🌟 Provided social media content ideas for our clients and inadvertently became a filmmaker and photographer

🌟 Delivered media training sessions for various companies to help their staff prepare for when media interviews come knocking

🌟 Ran crisis communications training sessions to show businesses how they should and shouldn’t handle a crisis

🌟 Undertaken lots of public speaking gigs where we are trying to demystify what PR is and isn’t, and how it can benefit all, no matter size or budget

🌟 And met lots of lovely, lovely people through networking. Business owners are simply great!

It’s been a busy few months at Purely Public Relations HQ and one of the many things we’ve been doing for our clients is generating media coverage.

We thought we’d pick out some coverage highlights we’ve been achieving for photographer extraordinaire Xavier Buendia, House of Cybele and Slinfold Golf & Country Club

Our clients have appeared on podcasts, on the radio, in regional newspapers, business magazines, regional magazines, trade magazines and websites. Phew!

So here’s a question we get asked a lot. Should I pay for press coverage?

➡️ Generally, we don’t recommend you pay for press coverage because if your story is strong and newsworthy enough, you can secure it through the power of public relations (PR) without ever having to pay for space. This is far more valuable and credible than paid-for media.

➡️ Paid coverage often lacks authenticity and can look like an advert, which can put some consumers off from reading it as they know instantly they are being sold to. It can also be very costly for businesses to undertake.
