Did you know there are only 286 Mexican gray wolves left in the wild in the entire United States? 🐺 A new bill introduced by U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar is threatening their very survival by aiming to strip away all Endangered Species Act protections. If HR 4255 passes, it would halt critical programs like captive-to-wild releases and federal monitoring, eliminate funding for ranchers who lose livestock, and even lift restrictions on killing these rare wolves.

It’s heartbreaking that the most genetically distinct gray wolf in the Western Hemisphere, once brought to the brink of extinction, is now facing another major setback. On top of that, misinformation and sensationalized media stories keep painting wolves as villains, distracting us from their vital role in maintaining healthy ecosystems.

🐋 BREAKING: Mexico just made history by unanimously banning captive marine mammal entertainment! This groundbreaking law means dolphins, orcas, and sea lions will no longer be forced to perform tricks for our entertainment.

What makes this even more incredible? All 350 dolphins currently in captivity will be relocated to sea pens where they can experience a more natural life. The ban covers everything - wild capture, captive breeding, and keeping these magnificent creatures for entertainment purposes. Going forward, marine mammals can only be held for legitimate scientific research focused on conservation.

This isn't just a win for animal welfare - it's Mexico leading the way in recognizing that these intelligent, social animals deserve better than a life of confinement and performance. When a country takes such a bold stance, it sends ripples across the world. 🌊

Did you know that pangolins are the world's ONLY scaly mammals? These incredible creatures are facing a heartbreaking crisis that most people don't even know about. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service just proposed listing seven pangolin species as endangered under the Endangered Species Act – and this decision couldn't come at a more critical time.

Here's the devastating reality: pangolins are being poached at alarming rates for their meat and scales, which are used in traditional medicine. Even though commercial trade protections were put in place in 2017, the illegal trafficking continues. Just recently, authorities seized nearly 4 tons of pangolin scales in Nigeria and 1.2 tons in Indonesia. Between 2016 and 2020 alone, U.S. officials intercepted 76 illegal shipments of pangolin parts.

But there's hope! If this proposal is finalised, it would ban most imports and interstate sales of pangolin parts in the U.S., potentially boosting funding for anti-trafficking and conservation programs. Right now, public comments supporting this listing are being accepted until August 18, 2025.
