Leanda at Suffolk Sound Radio

Leanda at Suffolk Sound Radio Leanda Hoyland-Linch opens up the throttle and roars on to the Suffolk Sound airwaves every Sunday from 10am!

Expect great music, bad jokes, fun features and a bit about the life of an ageing rock chick who rides a very big motorbike.

How is your weekend rolling?
I've enjoyed a lovely solo ride out this afternoon with dry roads, blue skies and a big smile😁🤩🏍
I'm back on Suffolk Sound at the usual time of 10 am tomorrow with a brand new feature!
Following the success of last week's 70s/80's tv tunes quiz, I bring you....(fanfare please..🥳🎉📣) THE TV TRIO!!! (It's almost as imaginatively titled as last week's 'Name that TV Tune' 😆)
It does what it says on the tin...I'll play three very short clips of TV or Movie theme tunes, several times during the show and you have two hours to guess them.
We will also have Who are You?, the Sunday Slow One and the Sunday Brunch Banger as well as an all-star line up of top tuneage.
Any requests or shout-outs, get them in now!!
See you tomorrow at 10 am, straight after Paul Clarke's fabulous new breakfast show 😀

So proud and happy to be part of this incredible team ❤️

On yesterday’s show on Suffolk Sound, I played the latest, fantastic track from local artist, Toucan Blue, called ‘Boscastle’. Along with his other recent release, ‘Tomorrow’, Toucan Blue has also been featured on Paul Miles’ Unsigned on Suffolk Sound show.

The tracks received great feedback, so if you’d like to find out more, you can follow Toucan Blue on Facebook or Instagram:

I hated being in the Brownies and couldn’t understand why I couldn’t join the cubs, who had far more fun doing meaningful stuff than making things out of paper doilies. My lasting memory is queuing up to have my fingernails judged, as to whether I was sent to the kitchen or the parlour. As a tomboy and tree climber, I was sent to the kitchen, feeling very ashamed. I still recall my ex-navy father’s wrath when I confessed 🤨
Happy that my children had the option to choose rainbows, cubs, brownies, scouts or guides. All great organisations, run by volunteers. Times have changed, fortunately!
What was your experience?

Being a brownie was fun

Given that I have an extra hour to play with tomorrow (starting at 9am), and to run alongside my look back at the 70s/80s, I thought we would have a bit of fun with TV theme tunes from the era.
So, have your pen and paper ready to play.......'Name that TV Tune!' Catchy title, eh?! 🤣 🎬🎼🎹🎞📺
I'l be playing you snippets of 18 recognisable TV themes in less than two minutes at regular intervals between 9 and 12. Let's see how many you can guess by the end of the show.
You can add your guesses here, or text the studio on 07456 470771.

It's three for two on Sunday, as I'll be kicking off the show at 9 instead of 10 am while Barbara Seagall is away.

This week, I've been reminiscing about growing up in the 70's and 80's, during what seemed a simpler, less complicated time. I vividly remember all of these icons from that time....especially the Be-Ro recipe book, which was a stalwart addition to any 70's cookbook collection.

So on Sunday, please join me on Suffolk Sound for a trip down memory lane and share your recollections, photos, requests or shout-outs.

See you at 9am.

Oh dear! Rob Dunger is in a spot of bother...can anyone help?
