Kendal Stands for Human Rights Raising awareness and sharing ways the Kendal Community can support Human Rights for All We want Kendal to lead the turning of the tide.

This page has risen from a group of local Cumbrians who wish to raise awareness of the ongoing Human Rights abuses in Palestine and the Middle East. We do this because Human Rights are only Human Rights if they apply to ALL humans. Undermining this principle opens the door to fascism and a repeat of past atrocities. hrough algorithms and press releases direct to mainstream UK media. Most Brits are not aware of the global outcry at how the UK is supporting the ethnic cleansing of Palestine through supplying arms, intelligence and training whilst the UK based arms industry profits in return. Most Brits are not aware of the long history of Z1onism, it's aims and objectives, and how that underpins the Palestinian struggle. We want Kendal to actively seek out truth, look at the history and hear what other leading figures in the world are saying. We want Kendal to be the place which says 'Human Rights are only Human Rights if they apply to ALL Humans'. We can look at the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was created after the Second World War as a mechanism to prevent the return of fascism.

“The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a milestone document in the history of human rights. Drafted by representatives with different legal and cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world, the Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948 (General Assembly resolution 217 A) as a common standard of achievements for all peoples and all nations.”

Through this convention we can uphold Kendal as a place which actively advocates for peace, takes steps to protect Human Rights and understands that ‘Never Again’ means ‘Never Again’.

The Red Ribbons Campaign has issued an urgent open letter to the United Nations calling for immediate international action following footage showing Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir entering the cells of Palestinian women held at Damon Prison.

The campaign says the footage shows Palestinian women raising concerns over the lack of adequate water for bathing and essential medical supplies, while Ben-Gvir appears to dismiss their suffering and portray the harsh conditions as deliberate.

The letter warns that the incident reflects a wider pattern of alleged torture, ill-treatment, medical neglect, starvation, sexual and gender-based violence, humiliation and other abuses against Palestinians in Israeli custody.

It calls on the UN to secure immediate access for independent international monitors, investigate the treatment and conditions of the women, protect them from reprisals and ensure accountability for officials responsible for unlawful treatment.

The campaign stressed that women deprived of their liberty must be treated with dignity and protected from violence, intimidation and humiliation, urging the United Nations to move beyond documentation and take concrete action.

The Global Sumud Flotilla is sailing! 22 boats have been intercepted in Greek waters (Piracy) and 51 still remain. Some boats took part in direct action to try to prevent raw materials arriving by boat to Izreal.

2 activists have been taken prisoner by Izrael - a Palestinian man and a Brazilian.
The interception happened 500 nautical miles away from G@za and at least 10 days travel time in Greek waters. Has the Greek government let this happen?

The IOF have now intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla in Greek waters, supported by the government it seems.

2 participants have now been abducted.
One Palestinian and one Brazilian - who is a key social organiser with a huge social media following.

All participants have been subjected to Israeli hospitality/hostility.

Please keep track of this, the biggest attempt yet to break the siege.

This violence to civilians is the definition of terrorism....

The UK’s Foreign Office has closed a unit that tracked potential breaches of international law by Israel in Gaza. The International Humanitarian Law Cell was closed due to budget cuts, according to reports in the Guardian

Yvette Cooper is on film accepting money from the Israel Lobby.
