🎙 Got a Passion for Music & Local Stories? We Need You! 🎙

As we grow, we’re looking for new people to join our team, and we have a few different volunteer spots to fill. See if one sounds like the perfect fit for you:

📻 Northants 1 Presenters: Love the latest chart hits and the biggest throwbacks? We’re looking for fun, high-energy presenters to take over the Northants 1 airwaves.

📻 Northants 2 Presenters: A fan of the timeless 70's, 80's & 90's classics? We need friendly voices to share great memories and play the greatest hits on our new station Northants 2.

We have daytime, evening, and weekend slots on both stations, so we'll be able to find a time that works for you. Shows are 3 hours, plus your preparation time.

📻 Local Content Contributor: Passionate about what's happening locally? We need people to write for our website, keep our Events Guide updated, and record local updates to be broadcast across all our stations.

Never done anything like this before? Don't worry, we provide full training! All you need is passion, to be 18+, and able to get to our studios, located near Kettering train station. (Under 18? Check the comments!)

You can submit your application until Friday 24th October. 🙌

We’re excited to be back once again for panto in Kettering as the official media sponsor with our local radio stations Northants 1 & Northants 2!

Expect plenty of behind the scenes goodies and all the other fun panto bits we do as we head closer to the festive season!

On Tuesday, we'll be celebrating one year of Northants 1! (And 6 years as Kettering and Corby's Local Radio Station, originally launched as Shire Sounds Radio). We've got a lot planned and plenty to share with you. 🎉

We are incredibly proud of the achievements we have made at NN Media over the last year. We've significantly increased our listener figures and refined our output, supported numerous local organisations and provided valuable media and workplace-based training for young people in North Northamptonshire.

Over the next week, we've some exciting updates to share, so keep your eyes peeled.

The Northants 1 Media Academy returns for 2025 in just under two weeks' time. We've still got a couple of spaces open to local young people aged between 13-18. It's a 12-week programme in which we cover essential media skills across a range of mediums, along with essential professional skills to set yourself up for the workplace.

If this fun programme sounds like something you or your loved one would enjoy, then please contact us about the remaining placements.

The Media Academy is offered at no cost, but we do accept donations from anybody to allow us to operate the scheme alongside our other community offerings. www.northants1.co.uk/support-us 🙌

Yesterday we hosted an end of year training session with our Northants 1 volunteer team.

Where among other bits we had Craig Pattison from High Peak 1 (who has previously worked at numerous other local stations across the country and Heart) with us to run a presenting workshop.

Big thanks to Craig for his time, we really value our partnership between NN Media and High Peak 1.
