Thanks everyone who has recently ‘liked’ the page. There’s been a bit of a surge of late despite the radio show being on hold. That’s quite gratifying, that people are interested in the idea….bigging up and celebrating The Adelphi Club and Grassroots venues everywhere.
I’m still stuck on other stuff right now but hope to get going again in Spring’ish Time.
In the meantime there’s loads of links on here to past shows. Give them a listen if you get chance.

Great new show on Louder Than War Radio , hosted by Dermot De Faoite. Playing tracks from the best ‘up and comers’ currently doing the rounds of the Grass Roots Venues now….

Expect the unexpected – including regular blasts from the past as well as the odd chat with those involved in music. WHERE’S ME JUMPER DERMOT goes out weekly on Wednesdays nights from 9–11pm. Dermot is always open to listening to new music so you can mail him at [email protected]

This weeks FLYER, being used for the ADELPHI CLUB FLYERS Show, is spine chillingly RUBBISH, undoubtedly the worst so far and could have been the death of the show BUT fear not…. The current listings at The New Adelphi Club are so blinkin’ strong it’s going to make for 1 of the BEST episodes EVER with a spooky Halloween theme running through the bleeder.

Considered as US Shoegaze ‘outliers’ in what was, way back then, a predominantly UK scene, Drop Nineteens are featured on this weeks ADELPHI CLUB FLYERS Show.
The year that they played the Adelphi Club (1993) also saw Radiohead and The Cranberries supporting ‘them’!
They are releasing a new album in November, after a 30 year hiatus and doing a string of autumn dates in the US.

The latest ADELPHI CLUB FLYERS Show ‘stand outs’ for me have to be a band from L.A. who played the club in 1993, called….GROTUS. Look ‘em up if you haven’t already been on to them.
Also in the show there are a couple of early’ish Shoegaze bands, an original RiotGRRRL band and a band from Whetherby, signed to SARAH Records, who made a decent racket.
Finally, if anyone knows any former SPACEMAID members put them on to this please. They were a top local lot and released some good stuff.
