Wet weather currently moving into northern areas will gradually slip back southeastwards overnight bringing a spell of rain for most of us. It will become a weakening and narrower feature as it moves across southern and southeastern areas tomorrow morning.

Track the rain on our new radar. We have finally developed and invested on a new 5 minute radar. By default updates are 15 minutes but you can access a wide range of features including live data, pressure overlays, wind animation and the 5 minute radar updates via upgrading.

I'm also proud to announce that UKWF has now acquired the ukweather.co.uk domain name, which will become our main domain name for our website and forecasts moving forward.

A warm up to come for parts of England and Wales this weekend as pressure builds and we see some warmer air move up from the near continent but it won't last long.

Parts of Yorkshire and N Lincs taking a battering! I did say they would be some decent storms out there today.

Taking a quick look at our lightning detector and you can see where the storms are feeding off the high CAPE values/energy.

Today's weather: Low pressure in the from the southwest. Heavy showers and local thunderstorms. Moderate winds for the south and south-west, especially coastal.

Longer spells of rain today, initially in the north and then the next system moves into the south-west through the morning. Heavy showers developing, particularly in the west.

Showers becoming heavier and more widespread across many areas throughout the afternoon period and into this evening.

Some lively thunderstorms expected locally when they get going!

Here comes the next area of low pressure from the south-west overnight.

Wet weather moving in across much of England and Wales throughout tomorrow with some gusty winds across coastal southern areas in particular for a time.

We see showers in-behind this system as it clears tomorrow, ahead of the next area of low pressure that moves in on Sunday.

Unsettled theme in general over the BH. I'll go into more detail tomorrow.
