Plenty more snow to come across some northern and northwestern areas, perhaps another 18-24 hours in places!

Further significant accumulations of snow to come. Cold air then moves in behind across all areas as the low moves away through tomorrow.

Snow showers will then pack into northern and western areas, some of these moving well inland to bring further accumulations at times!

The video shows the latest precipitation type (snow charts) from the UKV model.

Good evening. The circled area on the attached graphic shows the heavier pulses of precipitation associated with this area of low pressure. It will be this heavier precipitation that will move across our region in the next few hours, bringing moderate to heavier snowfall and enhancing accumulations where conditions are favorable. Lewis

* Snow update *

Good afternoon everyone.

An area of low pressure moves in tonight and will bring a risk of snow. The low interacting with colder air on the northern flank of the system.

Much of our region at risk of some sleet and snow tonight and into the early hours of tomorrow morning. Higher ground will fair best with 10-15cm in some spots, though mostly 8-10cm.

Lower ground has a risk of sleet and snow, potentially a covering or more in some places (1-5cm), locally higher. Immediate coastal areas seeing rain/sleet, in and around the Humber region for example.

If you're inland though, you have a chance of some snow!

Dew points ideally 0c or below. You may get away with them slightly above 0c if evaporative cooling comes into play and the freezing level drops, if this occurs it would bring the snowline further down to lower levels.

Please find snow charts and dew points for tonight.

Please share.

Good afternoon everyone!

It is turning colder this coming week with widespread overnight frosts, sleet and snow for some of us!

Tomorrow evening we see an area of low pressure move into the region, this particular low has been causing headaches all week and will continue to do so until it actually moves in!

Snow is a risk across our region, away from North Sea coasts. West, South Yorkshire and parts of N Yorkshire look best!

Elevation is key ~200m+ 10-15cm is possible, over 350-400m~ 20cm possible.

Lower ground will be marginal, however, locally some areas will see 5-10cm, which may cause some disruption. The intensity of precipitation will determine accumulation amounts.

We also need to keep an eye on the track of this low, it has been trending further south on each model runs which may take the heaviest precipitation outside our region (south of us).

Wintry showers and overnight frost risks remain throughout the week.

Potentially further sleet and snow moving in from the northwest and heading southeastwards across our region Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

I'll keep you updated as always.

Morning everyone.

High pressure is in charge (no change) this week! Thankfully we will see some brighter weather compared to last week!

There is a change coming for the weekend as we see colder air filter down from the north!

At the moment there is a little uncertainty on how cold we go into next week but a return to overnight frosts and perhaps even some wintry precipitation is on the cards! Especially over higher ground.

So yes, some snow could be in the forecast!

I’m looking for a page sponsor. So if you run a business in the Yorkshire region I’m looking for one sponsor to cover this page. Inbox/message me if interested.

I’ll keep you all updated.
