🎹 GarageBand for iPad – but actually useful
📱🎶 Learn it. Use it. WIN with it.

For the past 4 months, I’ve been quietly drip-feeding a proper GarageBand for iPad course on my YouTube channel – one lesson per week – built to genuinely empower you and your students, not overwhelm you.

This lives inside YouTube’s new Course Playlist feature, which means:

• Structured, step-by-step learning
• Clear progression (not random tips)
• Ideal for classrooms, tutors and self-

taught creators

🎙️ New bonus:
If you comment on the videos, I can now reply with a voice note, making it far more interactive and human than standard comments.

📌 Important:

Check the video description for full details of the complete, in-depth course – all filmed earlier this year and designed to work brilliantly on iPad.

Whether you’re:

• A music educator
• A student
• A parent supporting learning
• Or a creator wanting to make music

without expensive gear

This course is built to meet you where you are – and move you forward 🚀

Today on Resonate, I am joined by Rachel Parsons, a musician and youth music leader at More Music. She has been in bands in the 90s that featured on BBC Radio 1 (whilst still at school) and has grown to help 100s of young people do the same. We spoke about her time in Angelica, pivoting to youth wor...

Authenticity in music isn’t dead. It’s just getting harder to hear. 🎧

Today’s new Resonate Podcast episode is a big one:

“Authenticity in the Age of AI: Brendan Cleary – Songs, Sync Licensing & Staying Human”

In this conversation we dive into:

• How Brendan went from bedroom melodies to a BMG publishing deal

• What really happens behind the scenes of sync licensing (beyond the buzzwords)

• Why saying “yes” to imperfect opportunities can change your career

• How AI tools like Suno fit into the future of music – and where they absolutely don’t

• Why human emotion, vulnerability and “voice cracks” will always beat perfectly polished robot tracks

If you’re a songwriter, producer, DIY artist or just obsessed with where music is heading, this one will hit you right in the gut (in a good way).

🎙 NEW PODCAST FEATURE: How Musicians Can Use Tech to Turn PASSION into PROFIT

I sat down with Harry Westall on The Music Industry Architect Podcast — a must-listen for artists serious about building a real, sustainable music career.

We went deep into how technology and creativity collide to grow your brand, build your audience, and unlock new income streams as an independent musician.

Inside the episode, you’ll learn how to:

🚀 Turn your content into connection — using live streaming, short-form videos, and storytelling to grow real fans

💡 Monetise your music through platforms, sync libraries, and online opportunities you probably haven’t tapped yet

🎯 Build a consistent brand that cuts through the noise and helps you attract gigs, collaborations, and deals

🎙 Use affordable tools to record, stream, and share your music — no fancy studio needed

💬 Beat imposter syndrome and learn how showing your journey is your marketing

If you’re ready to start treating your music like a business (without losing the passion that got you here), this one’s for you.

“What do you see here?”

Some people will look at this picture and see four old keyboards in a school room.
Some will see plastic chairs, a cluttered corner, and a few computers gathering dust.
Some will see instruments that aren’t state-of-the-art, and maybe think: ‘Not much to get excited about here.’

But I see something very different.

I see four launchpads for creativity. Four opportunities for young people to discover rhythm, melody, harmony. I see the possibility that a child sits down at one of these keyboards and—just for a moment—believes they can create music.

It’s not about the newest tech or the perfect conditions. It’s about what happens when you put tools, however humble, into the hands of curious minds.

One day, a student who starts on a scuffed-up school keyboard could be the one writing film scores, producing world tours, or inspiring the next generation.

So I’ll ask again: what do you see?
Because the answer to that shapes how we choose to invest—in education, in creativity, and in people.

“That’s too early for a livestream!”

I have a lot of voices around me that don’t quite ‘get’ what I do or how I do it.
The point is that I show up, share and be as real as possible for anyone who makes music. That includes the flaws, the messy play, the off-harmonies, the ‘different’ techniques, however I still show up, because if I don’t, I won’t create.

I enjoy sharing because I know it helps a great community of music-makers.

Every Sunday, I go live at 10AM over on my youtube channel. .

Last weekend, I looked at a controversial AI songwriting tool and a potential example of where it may have been used.

To see / hear the results, go and checkout this video. I’ll also pin it to ‘Featured’.
