🕊 Remembrance Service this Sunday – 9th November at Holy Trinity Church.

Gather at the War Memorial 10:45am, followed by Church Service at 11am.

The WI poppies were laid last Friday in remembrance of all who served and sacrificed. 🌺

Heather, Sue and I attended The WI - Somerset AM yesterday - a chance to catch up with other WIs and introduce ourselves to a few new faces.

Had a nice chat with - NFWI Chair, Jeryl Stone, Susan from Shapwick Starlets WI — and Sally Kershaw from Taunton Early Birds (one of our speakers next year) - good to put faces to names.

We enjoyed Inspiring talks from Abi Reader, Asmaa Al-Allak and Angela Kerr - such enthusiasm and energy.

Well done to Shirley and team for pulling it all together. A few technical hitches along the way (we’ve all been there!) but a great day overall. 👏💚

What are doing on the morning of Saturday 1st November?

Come and support Farmerados as we have been chosen as the recipients of the proceeds from Long Sutton’s monthly community coffee morning.

Any donations of cakes, savouries and preserves for the produce stall greatly appreciated - just bring them on the morning.

What a lovely welcome! We were delighted to be invited to Somerton WI to share our ‘Stitch in Time’ Centenary project today.

The Somerton ladies were an appreciative audience for our first ‘Show & Tell’ Roadshow — and kindly made a donation to this year’s chosen charity - MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association) 🙏

Thank you, Somerton WI, for your kind words, warm hospitality, and the delicious tea and cake — it was a pleasure to meet and chat with you💚

What’s new at Long Sutton Nature and Energy Day?

We’ve got several new groups joining us this year at the Nature Day on the 25th October from 9.30-12.30 at the Village Hall.

This include Fixy, Somerset County Council’s recycling and repair service. Bring in your old, unwanted IT equipment for donation and recycling. They even wipe it securely so that your personal details are safe
