Well there endth the Jixenwell Gundogs show season. Rounding off an incredible year we have just had an awesome weekend at Sandringham Game and Country Fair.
The weekend saw some great dogs running in the Bales, 2 Dummy and Multi pick up scurries (photos and winners boards to follow). We also had our 2 day final for our AV Gundogs and Spaniels Challenge Champion Finals and our Junior Challenge Final and Team Final. Wow, wow, wow. Some amazingly talented dogs running some pretty difficult tests for the AV Gundogs and Spaniels. The Juniors proved that they are going to be some spectacular force of nature when they are competing as adults. The Team event - well not only were they the only event that had to compete in the rain they were so imaginative in their costumes, great in their teamwork and the dogs ran great. Can't wait to see what teams we have compete next year.
We will give a full breakdown of each competition separately and photos will be posted soon once Alan from Wet Dog Photography has processed the thousands of images he took over the 2 days. However to not keep you in suspense any longer I have attached the final times for all 3 events so you can all deliberate over them.
Congratulations to our Challenge Champion Shelley and Castor who also won the AV Gundog competition, Congratulations to Alison and Todd who won the Spaniel Competition, Theo and Bonnie who won the Junior Competition and The Happy Bunnies who won the Team Competition.
A massive thank you to all our helpers over the year but especially to Nick, Chris, Jordan and Sarah who were the dummy throwers and places for the Challenges. Steve and Steve who threw the dummies for the juniors. We really couldn't run the events without helpers so if you want to help at any of the shows next year please do get in touch to be added to the helper list.
Massive thank you to our core helper team of Nick, Cath, Claire, Craig and Summer who are usually the first to arrive and last last to leave with going well beyond the call of duty to help. You are our angels who we can never give enough thanks to for all you do.
Thank you to each and every person who has come to join us at all the shows we have run scurries at this year. We can't wait to see you again next year and all the people who have yet to join us.
