Wags here! Just wanted to share this with you. For me this sums up techno and how it should be approached by anyone who wants to make it. Techno is experimentation, it should not follow a formula. It can be influenced by what came before but for me it’s about subverting frequencies. On one level it’s about looking out to space and the possibilities beyond our world. It’s also counter culture,kind of punk and can be political as UR demonstrated. Few had the courage to follow that path. Mike Banks gave techno a deeper meaning as did Mills and Hood. Drexciya and the story behind there concept and music is truly original.
I don’t really get the current scene and hey who cares what I think anyway. I continue to write techno and enjoy the experience of creating.
