Since the dawn of human history, cannibals have lurked in the shadows—feasting on the rawest cuts, gorging on the lowest, toughest ends, tearing into life with a hunger that bordered on ritual. Driven by the pulse of primitive, repetitive rhythms—those bone-deep beats that could shake the dust from cave walls—they would work themselves into a feverish trance, howling at the heavens as the hot cuts were served, as if the moon itself had given them permission to indulge their most forbidden cravings.
So how, you might ask, did Drama Records cross paths with such a creature of legend? How did we, humble seekers of sound, end up face-to-face with a figure pulled straight from folklore?
It’s a long tale—longer than we ever intended to carry. We found the modern cannibal wandering in the middle of nowhere, just south of Royston Vasey, pacing the desolate moors like a ghost condemned to eternally circle its own grave. The night was thick, the kind that swallows voices whole, yet his carried—an eerie, ragged howl torn from his throat as he cried for his “special stuff.” He looked for all the world like a starving wolf calling out under a swollen, silver moon, begging the night to deliver something only he could name.
As we approached, he recoiled—not with fear, but with an animal’s suspicion. His eyes glinted, feral and gleaming, before he shrank back into a crouch. With trembling hands, he offered us a USB stick, clutching it like a relic he could finally relinquish. No words, no warnings. Just a haunted stare.
And then—he bolted. Scuttling across the moors with a speed that didn’t seem entirely human, swallowed by the fog and the heather, gone as abruptly as he had appeared. We never saw him again.
But the USB remained.
On it were countless oddities, fragments of sound, unfinished sonic experiments, and among them—this release. Something raw, something restless, something that felt less created and more… unearthed.
And now, we share it with you. Proceed with caution. The moors remember. And so, we suspect, does he.
